Attack on Titan Season 2, Episode 8 While nowhere near as action-packed as last week’s episode, this week’s Attack on Titan, even with, Eren, its main protagonist largely absent, turns out to be a solid episode all things considered. We got to step back in “The Hunters” for a good look at the relationship between Mikasa and Eren, their childhood with Armin and Hannes, and the universe’s military culture, specifically the clash between the Survey Corps and the much more coddled Military Police....
They keep their hauls relatively small to avoid attracting attention, but when an arrogant and clearly wealthy fellow named Cale (David Tennant) shows up in a Maserati, they know they’ve got a lucrative mark. That is, until Sean breaks into Cale’s house and discovers that he’s got a garage full of knives — and a woman (Kerry Condon) gagged and chained up in a secret room who begs Sean to set her free....
Batman Live opened at Manchester’s MEN Arena last night – the first of a 55 date tour that will visit Newcastle, Glasgow, Sheffield, Birmingham, London, Liverpool, Nottingham, Dublin and Belfast. It was quite a show. Let’s get the weak part out of the way first – the story. Wisely sidestepping the Batman origin tales told in Tim Burton’s 80s Batman and again in Batman Begins, Batman Live chooses instead to offer an interpretation of Robin’s debut....

The man who gave the order was an immigrant from Castellammarese, Sicily, Salvatore Maranzano. Masseria’s death put an end to the Castellammarese War....
The Battle Of Bardon Pass Her tryst with Arthur has been revealed to the whole court, and as a result, the king’s knights are outraged by his betrayal and considering whether this is a leader they want to fight for. Her husband, Leontes, has been humiliated and, in a fit of anger, deems that she is not his wife, “but the king’s whore”, and the kingdom is facing an attack on a vital outpost that consists mainly of one house, a shed and two sheep....
Such is the elasticity of the Marvel brand in the hands of the right directors; in this instance, it’s the Russo brothers, back in the saddle following Captain America: The Winter Soldier, a thoroughly satisfying mix of conspiracy thriller and CGI action banquet. Civil War is more of the same, yet this instalment feels, if anything, closer to an Avengers sequel than a Cap sequel – this is far more of an ensemble piece than Steve Rogers’ top billing might suggest....

Turkish-American indie filmmaker Onur Tukel is back in the spotlight with this new outing, leaning into satire and away from his slightly more uncomfortable forays into horror-comedy. Tukel’s latest effort pits Veronica (Sandra Oh), a rich trophy wife, against her old friend from college Ashley, played by Anne Heche. The two had a falling-out after Ashley came out as a lesbian back in the day, and dear friend Veronica decided the best way to respond was by completely ghosting her....
The mission they’re given is to retrieve a microchip, but now Bryce gets the cover of being Sarah’s partner, while poor Chuck is relegated to being a cocktail waiter. The mission goes wrong and Sarah comes to save Chuck, and gets hurt when a ‘Fulcrum’ agent tries to kill them both. Things then get slightly complicated when Sarah ends up in the same hospital where Captain Awesome and Chuck’s sister work....
Warning. There be spoilers ahead! The previous story left us with the rather daunting prospect of Chuck going up against a new Intersect powered by a certainly alive Daniel Shaw, while The Ring holds his sister. Except Chuck knows nothing of these things at the outset, and he’s having issues with what the Intersect is doing to his brain! This soon changes when he sees Shaw and follows him down into the subway, and luckily, the station’s TV surveillance proves he’s not having a delusion....
Those who weren’t alive during the 80s or 90s probably won’t know who Axl Rose or Slash are without Googling them. Similarly, most YouTube Red subscribers (and younger, everyday visitors to the website) probably won’t understand who Johnny is. Nor will they appreciate his complex relationship with Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), the titular hero of the 1984 classic who seems at first more like an antagonist in this iteration. In other words, many YouTube users who come across Cobra Kai in advertisements preceding other videos, or suggested videos after viewing others, shouldn’t even know what it is....
Perhaps when Counterpart first introduced Clare, some viewers thought she would be a relatively minor character, acting as Baldwin’s handler as the assassin made her way through her target list. In the latest episode, however, Clare, played by Nazanin Boniadi (Homeland, Scandal), is shown to be a much more central figure than we first anticipated. Far from your typical sleeper agent, Clare reveals her back story in a way that portrays her as both a sympathetic victim and a steely-eyed manipulator....
8.12 Remember the Monsters? It’s a sad truth, but as the clock ticked towards the final part of Dexter, I toyed with the idea of skipping it entirely. On offer instead, due to abysmal scheduling, was the Emmys. But as much as I wanted to see Neil Patrick Harris try his earnest best to forever erase Doogie Howser, M.D. from our collective memories, and truckloads of self-congratulation, I felt after ninety-five previous episodes I should do Dexter the courtesy of watching the ninety sixth....

There’s Abnegation, the selfless ones; Erudite, the clever ones; Dauntless, the brave ones; Amity, the peaceful ones; and Candour, the honest ones. Soon after they turn 16, all the teens in Chicago have to choose a faction....
During the first series of Doctor Foster, it was possible, if only for the briefest of half-seconds, to feel sorry for Simon Foster. Yes, he was a lying, cheating rodent who’d spent two years humiliating a woman he professed to love and making a mockery of the life she’d built with him in good faith, but there was something… hapless about him. Bertie Carvel’s lopsided grin ensured it. Simon’s business was a shambles—as his accountant said, he could barely add up—and pitted against clever, ferocious, injured Gemma, he seemed woefully out of his depth....
At this point it feels almost moot to say that any doubt in Marvel’s ability to deliver is undeserved. Not only did they put together a typically well-oiled machine of a film, they also managed to produce one which gets some distance away from the homogeneity that has afflicted the studio’s recent offerings – and not just because this one isn’t peppered with gratuitous guest stars. Director Scott Derrickson comes from a tradition of horror, and perhaps that’s why Doctor Strange seems to walk the line between unsettling and awe-inspiring....
Face The References This story reunites the Doctor and Clara with graffiti artist Rigsy, who first appeared in last year’s Flatline and acted as Clara’s assistant while the Doctor was trapped inside a TARDIS whose outer dimensions were shrinking. The Doctor was initially unimpressed with Rigsy, dismissing him as another ‘pudding brain’, but quickly saw his worth as a source of ‘local knowledge’ – a nickname that quickly stuck and is used again in this adventure....
