Exhibit A: Holden dealing with sudden weightlessness by using Newton’s third law, pushing Naomi away from himself to regain his magnetic footing. Exhibit B: Amos and Naomi tossing a sealant tool of some sort back and forth to block a depressurizing hole in the hull while Shed’s blood bobbles about in the air....
Bill Condon’s ambitious and zealous biopic on the early days of WikiLeaks is an entirely mixed bag. It exerts itself in trying to give a broad picture of WikiLeaks whilst honing in the relationship of founder Julian Assange and his second-in-command Daniel Domscheit-Berg. Benedict Cumberbatch nails the former’s twitchy tics and pronounced accent, and his portrayal, although not exactly fair on Assange himself, is one of the highlights of The Fifth Estate....
3.1 Flashpoint By going back and saving his mother from Eobard Thawne, which a year before he had chosen not to do, he created a brand new reality in which he had grown up with his biological parents, didn’t know Iris or Cisco, and didn’t have the weight of the world on his shoulders. I wasn’t a fan of this choice, either from Barry or from the show’s writers. For me, it erased the truly transcendent moment from the first season finale – one motivated by all we had learnt of Barry, his heroism and his love for the imperfect life he had ended up with....

3.3. Exposed The foremost murderer we have at this point is Neil, the mammoth craftsman who likes to mash people into little metal cubes. It’s important to note that he’s the person that our other killers all seem to be afraid of, and as we find out this episode, that’s with good reason. Not only is he skilled, he’s also efficient when he has to be, and after a little research and a game of good cop/psychotic cops, he’s on the lam from the Hardy gang....
And so: The Huntsman: Winter’s War, an interesting companion piece to the first film which takes place before and after it, with a brief through-the-mirror recap at the start. In terms of narrative structure, the closest comparison point is 300: Rise Of An Empire. And, as with that inbetweenquel, the new characters here are often more interesting than the old ones. Blunt sells this transition from introvert to evildoer convincingly, to the point that Freya’s icy uncaringness pretty much shuns Theron – the snarling MVP of the last film – to the sidelines....

The true believers knew though that this was no joke: this was rock ‘n’ roll, heart and soul. There is no place for pernicious critical snobbery in the realm of real unadulterated guitar geekdom....
I Am Legend is an inherently cinematic concept, but it hasn’t had a smooth ride on the big screen. It was first adapted into The Last Man On Earth, starring Vincent Price. Matheson himself wrote the screenplay but chose to be credited with a pseudonym when he dissatisfied with the result. The Last Man On Earth is the closest to the original story, but suffers from a painfully low budget and Price being miscast in the title role....
Adam Cozad and Craig Brewer’s The Legend Of Tarzan screenplay takes something of a Deadpool approach, starting later in the story (with Alexander Skarsgård’s Tarzan now living a comfortable life in England as John Clayton, before being drawn back to the Congo after rumours of slavery arrive in his ears) but periodically flashing back to his origin tale. The main plotline, though – John Clayton returning to his roots to stamp out injustice – is fairly strong....
Series creator and head scribe Aaron Sorkin is cognizant of the criticisms swirling around his passion project and knocking Will down a few pegs, if only briefly, was a clever way of showing he would make good on his promise to “start over” in season three. As we close the door on The Newsroom with this final 6-episode run, Sorkin opens with a premiere that at least initially relies on covering “old news,” albeit at a more enjoyable pace....
Ryan is back, and he’s ready to move Dunder Mifflin Scranton into the future. There’s going to be a new website, and everyone is getting mandatory Blackberries. Right away you see the developing problem, as the older generation of workers are immediately confused and resistant to all new technological changes, just like in real life. And just like in real life, Ryan is going to stick around the office until everyone has their Blackberries set up and working....
The Powerpuff Girls started off as the Whoopass Girls in a 1992 cartoon short called “Whoopass Stew!” by animator Craig McCracken. It ran on the Cartoon Network from 1998-2005. Ringo Starr is no stranger to cartoons himself. He starred with John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison in the sixties Beatle Cartoons as well as Yellow Submarine and Harry Nilsson’s The Point. The Powerpuff Girls had an episode called “Meet the Beat-Alls” with thousands of in-jokes and references....
I love it when I’m wrong about stuff like this. In this vein, the first episode hour considers what happens to Frank Castle when he thinks his war is over. What does he do when he believes he has exacted all the revenge that is necessary on the criminals who murdered his wife and kids? We’re left with is a man who is merely existing, whose rage isn’t spent despite the lack of a target....
We also had the chance to tour the archives of Pixar, where just about all the materials pertaining to the 20 films produced during the studio’s 23-year history (starting with Toy Story in 1995) are safely and carefully housed for generations to come. It’s a remarkable treasure trove of historical artifacts from what will surely be considered for years to come as one of the greatest runs of animated entertainment ever realized, a stretch now continuing with the new chapter in the story of superheroes Bob and Helen Parr and their three exceptionally gifted children....
This The Simpsons review contains spoilers. I love it that Krusty’s daughter says he doesn’t have to be “sort of funny” with her. It’s sort of funny cos it’s almost true. This reviewer has been calling Krusty the almost-funny clown since I almost giggled at one of his actual jokes once. The pies Krusty takes to the face have always reflected the ones critics and fans have thrown at the show....
And I really thought that Mariela Martinez was going to find a way to help our group of vampire hunters. I really thought that through her dementia clouded brain she was going to find a way to help her daughter Nora, the brilliant scientist who has sacrificed so much for her doddering, chain smoking mother. The Strain surely wouldn’t kill two Latina mamas in two subsequent weeks, right? Yeah, yeah they would as Carlton Cuse, Chuck Hogan, and Guillermo Del Toro prove to be three very wonderfully sick human beings as Mariella met her demise this week on The Strain....

All of this coincides with DoSAC in absolute chaos as both sides of the coalition can barely stand to look at each other. Made worse by the Home Office dumping the blame for a backlog of arrests onto the already stretched team, but they unite to gleefully witness Tucker’s downfall. Meanwhile, ex-opposition leader Nicola Murray has her humiliation dragged out even more when her aide arranges an interview with the chop that’s been taunting her all series....
