2.1 Rebirth We begin, as with the comic-con promo shown over the summer, with Rebekah’s exposition-filled lullaby to baby Hope, and learn right off the bat that the rest of the family haven’t been coping with their loss very well. Klaus and Elijah are hiding out for fear of an unbalanced fight against Francesca’s werewolves, Hayley has cut herself off from everyone, Davina is still babysitting Mikael and Cami and Marcel have continued their no-strings relationship from the end of last season....

After innumerable puzzles, mysterious characters and quirky goings-on, the final part of The Prisoner wraps everything up with a satisfying climax. In the Village, Two gives Six his final ultimatum: conform or die. The obstinate Six falls ill, stricken with the dreaded Village Death. 313 wants to help him, but she’s also trying to deal with increasingly disturbing dreams of her own. Two’s son isn’t keen on following in his father’s footsteps, so he decides to put his mum out of her misery and make sure that Two doesn’t get his own way....

After zapping ahead into the future, Sarah has a new mission. Since she can’t seem to stop SkyNet by keeping John alive, and since the killing of Miles Dyson didn’t stop it in Terminator 2, that suggests that there’s other people aside from Miles Dyson who are working on the project, or who know enough about the project to continue on his work. Considering the multiple layers of data protection in most places, that’s very reasonable and it’s probably dumb Sarah didn’t think of it before....

5.4 The Curse Of Clyde Langer Part 2 I suppose what I’m trying to say is, I’ve watched a lot of Saved By The Bell. The Sarah Jane Adventures has largely stayed away from real-life issues until now. Child abduction was touched on in series one, and divorce was covered in another Clyde-centric episode in series two, but there’s always been a big alien threat to bury the issue as much as possible....

So, here we are at episode 19 of The Tomorrow People. Nineteen. Game of Thrones has been renewed for ten episodes. Why? Because it’s good. Quality over quantity. But such is the plight of the network drama vs. the cable drama. Which brings us to “Modus Vivendi,” Which roughly translates as a “way of living,” or a kind of “deal with it” in diplomatic terms. Maybe. Hey, I took Spanish, not Latin....

The title of this week’s episode of The Tomorrow People, “Rumble,” implies there is going to be a major fight. But in the midst of all this, I wonder, if the Tomorrow People are the next step in human evolution, what advantage is there in NOT being able to kill others (with the exception of John)? I mean, doesn’t that mean they can be wiped out at will? With all their “powers,” someone can still whip out a gun and shoot them dead....

Here’s our list of the best upcoming exclusives coming to the PS4 in the next year. Triple Town was an addictive little puzzler for mobile devices, and if this PS4 release features a similar level of taxing gameplay, then it could become quite the time sink. 19. Pavilion A Sony exclusive heading to both the PS4 and PS Vita, Pavilion is an isometric adventure with a beautiful art style. The interesting thing here is the approach Visiontrick Media is taking with the game’s challenge....

6.18 I Could Never Love Like That Suddenly the timing of the announcement that Nina Dobrev would be leaving The Vampire Diaries makes a lot of sense. If it had come after this episode, I Could Never Love Like That, Elena’s emotional arc would have had far less weight to it and, knowing that there’s a ticking clock on her character, it’s hard not to speculate. Will she end up taking the cure, and skipping town either out of compulsion or through her own choice?...

Clearly energised by the experience of shooting a low-budget project free from studio oversight (and reportedly funded out of his own pocket), Shyamalan serves up a found footage flick that serves as a reminder of why the subgenre can be so effective. It helps that the characters are so vibrant where so many horror protagonists are mere cyphers, and that the jabs of horror are joined by an unexpected yet entirely welcome streak of dark humour....

For the first three weeks of The Walking Dead, there wasn’t much of a threat from the walkers (or geeks) on the people of the camp. They were in the mountains, the dead were in the city, and all was right in the world, as it were. Not so much this week. After a lengthy period of comfortable camping out, with the only disruptions being internal, there’s finally a little external action at the campsite, and the formerly overstuffed cast is now slightly less stuffed....

Melissa McBride (Carol) should win an Emmy. In the last two seasons of The Walking Dead, Scott Gimple and the rest of the writers have made great use of her character, and it definitely shows in episodes such as “Consumed.” McBride has had two standout performances this season — first, in the explosive season 5 premiere in which she single-handedly saved everyone from the Terminans, and now this episode, which deals with Carol’s imminent rendezvous with death....

The Starks and Lannisters having left us for another year, the BBC is filling the void with the original players of the game of thrones: the Yorks and Lancasters. A ten-part adaptation of Philippa Gregory’s celebrated The Cousins’ War series, The White Queen takes place in the twenty years between the Battles of Hexham and Bosworth, but is less interested in clashing armies than it is power struggles between the Wars of the Roses’ royal women....

1.5 Wanted Mans So, yes: the mystery of the music box has been solved. It was totally unremarkable, except that somewhere among its cogs and wheels it held a memory stick. And on that memory stick? A video of Scarlett having sex with a vaguely familiar-looking man. Throughout the series I’ve felt like I ought to be paying more attention to the news reports we’ve glimpsed every time Sam and Phil have passed through the Council’s reception area, and, yup, turns out they were absolutely there for a reason....

Dead Of Night Well, for my money, that was the best of the three episodes of Miracle Day to date. The first two episodes have been furiously putting the blocks of the show in place, both in terms of establishing it for a new audience, and building a major threat to work against. Dead Of Night, though, just applies the brakes slightly, and spends some welcome time with the characters sat down and talking to each other....

It felt like a good time for a reread. I felt I could take some time and a fresh eye and look at the story for those similarities, to see if the regular, periodic comparisons were accurate or if they were just nerd hyperbole. I was impressed at how quick a read it was: the story wasn’t lacking depth, but it was visually concise and told everything the reader needed to know through snappy dialogue, rather than narrative infodumps....

“I intended it to wheedle its way into the unconscious mind,” Hooper said, “where the nightmares are. It leaves a harmonic hanging there, buzzing in your head. That’s mixed with another little nasty [sound] that sits there and quivers with the other one. And if you can get enough of these things going, and then you slam the door, it takes on a whole different tone.” Upstream Color isn’t a horror film, but its use of imagery and sound to create an almost nightmarish sense of tension is something Hooper would probably admire....

That said, my cookie-eating self was all about this episode. Though the show is dragging out what exactly Bonnie and Damon will do, it’s become exceptionally clear that they will have to bring Kai back with them into the world. I mean, if they don’t do that, there’s literally no other real villain this season, unless you can count the veil separating from Bonnie and Damon from their friends and family — and I don’t count that....

After the Atari became old hat, my desire for more electronic diversions led to the Commodore 64, then the NES, then the Sega Genesis, and on and on and on leading to the release of the recent Ouya console. At this point, I can’t imagine my life without the gaming that I so enjoy. So it’s a safe bet that Video Games: The Movie is on your radar. Writer/director Jeremy Snead’s new documentary first garnered attention last year with a successful Kickstarter campaign....
