This Stalker review contains spoilers. The idea of taking a bunch of stereotypes and clichés and subverting them with some meta stalker is actually the sort of thing that Kevin Williamson would excel at, that pretty much being what he started in New Nightmare and perfected in the Scream series. But instead we get no commentary, cleverness, or uniqueness here, rather just an episode that drowns in its lack of originality....
When I saw this as a child it was the first Star Trek story I just didn’t get, and that seemed to be aimed much more squarely at adults. The Conscience Of The King is one of Trek‘s first attempts to give itself more kudos by referencing the classics, in this case the whole story is a Greek tragedy, and the staging of Hamlet is central to the plot. Ironically, it’s got the same start as the previous story where Kirk is lured somewhere on a false pretence....
It was at this time that I realised it might not be quite so straightforward as, despite the game’s promise, the fact that it’s a ‘beta’ version is very apparent right from the offset and it also reminded me why console gaming is so much easier / better then PC gaming. Needless to say, I wasn’t really that bothered when it eventually did load up after all these problems, and didn’t really have high hopes for it considering my colleagues who had already played it explained it had terrible “rubber banding” (lag) issues and the servers were down a lot for maintenance (tell me about it!...
Bloodline alternates between its political story and an action-adventure one. Sick of infighting in the Galactic Senate, Leia wants to resign, but is drawn back in when both a mercenary group and the nomination for First Senator demand her attention. At her side is Senator Ransolm Casterfo, whose collection of Imperial artifacts complicates his own devotion to the New Republic. Settling down to review this one, I struggled with where to start....
3.18 The Citadel Jedi general, and Yoda look-alike, Even Piell (last seen in Episode I: The Phantom Menace, factoid fans), has been taken and placed in the formidable stronghold known as The Citadel, an impenetrable prison that houses captured Jedi. So, the ‘simple’ task facing Obi Wan & Co. is to go on in and get the bat-eared little guy out. But just how are the Jedi and their Clones going to enter the titular structure?...
The Last Jedi’s title turned out to be an epic misdirection. While Luke did believe that the Jedi had to die while he was in exile on Ahch-To, he learned that his own guilt was blinding him to the hope represented by Rey. In a powerful conversation with Yoda, Luke learned that failure is part of the Jedi journey and that his exile did not have to be the end for the light side of the Force....
2.13 The Call Star Wars: Rebels is showing its age. Well into the second season, the characters are well-established and principled, and the show has some things it consistently does well – big vistas and little flairs in action scenes, and Star Wars mysticism. It’s also showing the age of its target audience. The Call seems like it would be best for children – and that doesn’t mean that it is especially simplistic, or goofy....
Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Episode 7 There’s something wonderfully earnest about this episode of Star Wars Rebels. It does away with any suggestion of filler; the introduction of a new (and/or returning) character is just one of many stand-out moments that are sure to get fans talking. It also sets up a battle for Lothal that resonates thematically with the show as a whole. Maybe it’s because Dave Filoni has been putting references to wolves into his shows since The Clone Wars, but I thought I could detect a sort of fannish glee, a detailed attention, to the loth-wolves in “Kindred....
Supergirl Season 3 Episode 14 Aside from being a highly relevant pun, Schott Through the Heart is a fun and heartfelt episode that pushes at the edges of the superhero genre, and reminds us how amazing Supergirl can be when it’s firing on all cylinders. Speaking of: holy Laurie Metcalf, Supergirl! What a get! She makes an excellent scene partner for Jordan, taking on the role of dark, sardonic wit so he can dwell in the dramatic end of the pool....
In an age when Superman has died and come back to life, both on the page and on the big screen, the best Superman stories know better than to rely on raw power. Stories about how hard Superman can punch, or how many punches he can take, might sell some tickets, but that’s not the true strength of the character. The best storytellers know that Superman’s kindness, compassion, and unflagging belief in humanity’s better nature define the character far better than heat vision, supersonic flight, or indestructibility....
Supernatural Season 13 Episode 2 The second episode of season 13 took things at a little slower pace, giving us a look at Jack’s development while also teasing us about Mary and Lucifer’s interaction in the alternate reality. Jack is going to be an interesting yet challenging character to develop throughout this season. His parentage is certainly unique. Jack’s seemingly unlimited range of power will certainly be difficult to tackle and keep the audience interested if his character isn’t developed, and luckily it seems we’re getting that development as we travel from episode to episode....

We all knew that was coming, but again it’s done in such a way that it doesn’t feel forced and I would be doubtful of anybody who said that they saw it coming. Now, big spoilers, Sam has actually been back for a whole year but, after his sacrifice, didn’t want to bring Dean back into the family business....
3.10 The Overlooked It’s a dark and stormy night in Beacon Hills, quite literally, as the town is faced with the storm of a century. The hospital is being evacuated, flood waters are rising, power is going out all over town, and if you think that’s a great time to be stranded in the hospital while you throw up black blood and bits of mistletoe, you’d be pretty wrong. Admittedly, there’s never a good time to be stuck in the hospital, but when you’re Cora Hale and your only company is your sassy uncle Peter and your coma, well… it’s bad times all around when the Alpha pack shows up in pursuit of Jennifer “Darach” Blake; Jennifer just happens to be the only person able to save the poisoned Cora – though not without a lesson on Norse mythology as to why mistletoe is poisonous thereby fulfilling Jeff Davis’s desire to entertain and educate at the same time – so we get a pretty fun little locked room episode with innocent people, the Sterek clan, the Alpha pack, and the Darach all working at cross-purposes with one another....
3.17 Silverfinger Unfortunately, this week’s episode of Teen Wolf wasn’t directed by Russell Mulcahy, which would’ve made those factoids even more fitting. However, it was directed by Jennifer Lynch, aka the director of the good-bad movie classic Boxing Helena and the daughter of David Lynch. Given the family legacy of unnerving audiences, it’s a given that she knows how to make skin crawl, which she does multiple times during this episode of Teen Wolf....
We left Moist von Lipwig cowering, surrounded by flames as the banshee swoops down on him and brags that the postmaster deaths were his doing. He also reveals that Gilt financed the deaths. Moist is now free to find and rescue Stanley, who’s sat reading a manual, dutifully ticking off the steps to take if caught in a fire. It’s a funny peek into how his mind works, or doesn’t without proper and thorough instruction....
For those of you in need a quick refresher, the CW’s dystopian series The 100 turned out to be a surprisingly deep, complex show that explored themes of morality and sacrifice by focusing on the survivors of a post-apocalyptic society. Very early on, the series demonstrated it wasn’t afraid of getting its hands dirty—the first season included not one attempted lynching, but two. It also included torture, cannibalism, and an awful lot of death and destruction....
1.6 His Sister’s Keeper As the episode title suggests, the bulk of His Sister’s Keeper was focused on Bellamy and Octavia, whose sad backstory was finally revealed via flashback. We already knew that Octavia’s very existence on the Ark had been illegal, and that their mother had been floated once she was discovered, but the exact circumstances of both were unclear until now. What’s important about the story, of course, is what the experience did to the relationship between the brother and sister and, quite understandably, theirs in a complicated form of sibling rivalry....
A = Anaconda Reports exist of 150ft long anacondas, though these have been mostly rubbished. They are known to grow up to 30ft, though, which is still massive. In Anaconda and Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, lots of hapless explorers, including Jon Voigt, got eaten by them, often swallowed whole. Urghh. According to the IMDB, Snakes on a Plane went under the fake working title of Anaconda 3 for a while; there were probably some anacondas in it, somewhere, but I’m no expert....
In the middle of this episode Alison is presented with the story of a girl who Dr. Henry treated, who cracked her jaw open two times doing the same thing. The girl felt awful about it until Henry told her about another girl who cracked her jaw open four time and it still looked beautiful. And even if Noah and Alison continue to crack their jaws here as they make the same mistakes, they shouldn’t give up because there’s always going to be someone else who has done it worse, and somehow persevered....
#699 starts off where #698 left off; back in Doctor Octopus’ cell as doctors try to revive him. Doc Ock, or rather Peter Parker as Doc Ock, is revived and put back on life support. This gives readers a glimmer of hope for Peter’s life. Peter reluctantly enlists other super-villains in order to break Doc Ock’s body out of the prison. His new “allies” are The Trapster, Hydro-Man and The Scorpion....
