2.13 Date Of Death Madison, as we’ve seen, is making terrible choices left and right, and the results come home to roost immediately. This episode opens with a cluster of people outside the gates of the hotel, yelling and screaming and rattling them try to get in. Of course, they won’t be able to let anyone in, because there are 43 of them and the hotel only has a finite amount of resources and space....

After all, it only cost $2.79 and the purchase of a new cup would mean that they wouldn’t have to share the only cup they have and there would be no need for Jemaine’s ‘cup roster’, which means that Bret is unable to have a cup of tea between 7-9pm....
Soul (patch) boy Kingsley has scored his first gig, thanks to Heather. “The thing is, you’ve been spending so much time on your music lately” she tells him straight after the intro. The thing is Heather, we haven’t seen Kingsley pick up his guitar for several episodes. Sabine announces that she’s leaving the flat because she’s had enough of being accused of burglary. Josie offers her hugs. Sabine is the only character who has called Josie out on her villainy all series....
The gaming show was well known for giving 100% honest reviews and not catering to the masses by babying reviews of blockbuster big name titles. This is the main reason you should have been watching X-Play; most other big name video game reviewers were timid about giving their true honest opinion of major games. I’m curious about whether or not this will affect the G4TV website, which is riddled with video game news and video game reviews–will this also change after the new year?...
2.10 Valar Morghulis The big thing is to exit on a high note, and the show definitely ends on a cliffhanger big enough to bring people back next year. Last year’s finale shot of a blackened, naked Danerys holding her three baby dragons was pretty epic, but this episode had three impressive closing shots back-to-back-to-back to cement our major story lines: Dany in Qarth, Robb’s romance, Tyrion and Shae, and the men of the Night’s Watch north of the wall....
On the surface, married couple Nick (Ben Affleck) and Amy (Rosamund Pike) have everything the average American could possibly want: good looks, a big house in a pleasant area of Missouri. Even their cat has its own bedroom. But something darker lurks beneath the wafer-thin surface: the house is a rental, the couple were forced to move there when Nick’s mother fell sick and they both lost their jobs in New York, and worse still, the loving spark that once flickered between them has long since faded out....
The alarm bells start ringing right with the opening shot of Gotham episode 3, which looks like an awkward composite of New York City’s Lower East Side with other landmarks that don’t quite seem to fit with the rest of the surroundings. A sequence of various acts of crime and depravity, followed by Oswald Cobblepot’s satisfied smile as he looks around and then to the camera and utters the word “home,” is awfully on the nose....
Gotham Season 3, Episode 9 Gothamis a bit of a one-trick pony when it comes to character development. On this show, either you die a morally-questionable character or you live long enough to become a straight-up villain. (That’s how that quote goes, right?) For Barnes, the latter came to full fruition in “Executioner,” thanks to a little help from Alice Tetch’s blood. I’m not sure how good of a job Gotham does at articulating the difference....
5.1 The Grimm Identity And so begins another season of fun and games for our favourite folklore-inspired series. If you remember, last season’s finale saw Grimm’s first major character get killed off in the form of Hexenbitch Juliette, courtesy of two arrows to the chest from Truble. This occurs just hours after the show’s hero, Nick Burkhardt, stumbled upon his mum’s severed head, Se7en-style, which had been left for him to discover by (the now-deceased) Kenneth and his pack of royal attack dogs....
For every new feature that emerges to excite fans, there seems to be a delay or a broken promise. Beta testing has now begun, though – with an open beta scheduled, allegedly, for the end of the year – so the time for hyperbole will soon be over. It’s time to see if there really is no place like Home – for better or worse. We can take comfort from knowing that there’ll surely be more objects added as Home nears release....
1.7 Sorbet This week’s episode is a bit of something different, both for the show and for Hannibal stories in general. So often, we see what the deadly psychiatrist does, while a careful curtain – a human veil- keeps us from looking into his own emotional and mental makeup. That obstacle began to fade as we followed Hannibal himself through something remarkably like a-day-in-the-life-of. This week’s case was, as usual, weak in and of itself: a doctor-wannabe performing organ harvesting....
Hap and Leonard Season 2 Episode 3 Here’s the tricky thing about Hap and Leonard: The better the show is, the harder it is to watch. And this is a difficult hour to watch. So what makes this a standout hour of Hap and Leonard? Well, after getting my hands on the demo, I can safely say it definitely is unique and that the game is quite QTE heavy, but in a brilliant way, and after playing the demo I would like to add my own quote to the mix. So what’s it all about? Well, Heavy Rain is a noir thriller created by Quantic Dream exclusively for the PS3. You may remember Quantic Dream for creating the sci-fi thriller Fahrenheit, or Indigo Prophecy, depending on where you are in the world....
Now, I’ve enjoyed time travel in Heroes and it certainly has its place, but the problems come when the characters start to interact in the timezone they find themselves in, and it is that deep flaw which runs through the entirety of episode 12. My Father had more paradoxes than a temporal anomaly’s day out to the time paradox convention in time machine land, and only marginally less than the insipid Van Damme gaffe-fest that is Time Cop....
But one of the reasons that Eric has lasted a good five years and counting is maintenance. Granted, we could just go to our local supermarket that we won’t name lest you think this is an advertorial, and replace Eric once he starts to get old. But we’re attached to the little fella. Firstly, it depends on the softness or hardness of the water in your area. The best indicator is a simple visual inspection....
But one of the best Rebels stories set on Lothal doesn’t actually feature Ezra at all. If you’re a Rebels fan who wants more to read before or after the finale, the four-book Servants of the Empire series by Jason Fry is a quick, enjoyable look at Lothal. It follows Zare Leonis, an Imperial cadet who finds himself working undercover for the Rebellion while he searches for his missing sister....
Still, there is some value to a good idea. That’s especially true as it relates to video games. Even though the indie market is filled with novel ideas, its pattern of releases is starting to become more predictable. Retro platformer, dungeon crawler with roguelike elements, survival-crafting, and so on. This is where Crytek comes in. You may remember Crytek as the makers of Crysis, a game so technologically demanding that it became a meme for what your computer was capable of running....
To me the return of Hustle is like the first flower of spring, in televisual terms. Its annual appearance for a short six episode season always leaves me wanting more, but also always appreciating what they are kind enough to deliver. The cast this time is the same as season 5, with Matt di Angelo and Kelly Adams back as newcomers Sean and Emma. But at the core of this show is Adrian Lester as the masterful Mickey Stone, Robert Glenister as Ash and the wonderful Robert Vaughn as Albert Stroller....
There’s so much to praise about the broad strokes of In The Flesh’s world that its finer details risk going unnoticed. Not only have the show’s production designers recreated a trio of teenage bedrooms so accurate that frankly, it verges on the suspicious (kids, check under your beds tonight for BBC employees with mood boards), but their designs also inform the storytelling. Doing the same was this week’s skilful direction by Alice Troughton and cinematography by Dale McCready, which positioned Simon in a Christ-like pose during his trials at the hands of Halperin and Weston (more attention to detail from writer Dominic Mitchell there, in borrowing the names of the director and writer of 1932’s White Zombie for In The Flesh’s two scientists)....
