Noah was so close to discovering it was her, but before the hotel clerk could reveal her identity, Audrey is calling him with her disguised voice, threatening to kill him if he said anything else. Learning of Audrey’s involvement in the last episode has added an intriguing twist to the show....

I always prefer to know as little as possible about a film before I see it and had, as always, avoided reading too much about Shrooms beforehand. I knew that it had a simple but effective poster, the catchy tagline “Get Ready to Get Wasted” and essentially involved a group of youths doing magic mushrooms in the woods, while being killed off by someone or something. And it’s this need to distance itself from the latter form of horror that results in the film being confused, resulting in it falling between two posts, being neither gory and fun enough to be a slasher or chilling and original enough to be a J-Horror....

Ever since Casino Royale landed in 2006, Eon has sought to reconcile Bond with the modern age. We’ve seen less reliance on gadgets, and more emphasis on immediate, physical action. Yet while Daniel Craig’s first outing was a confident, streamlined affair, the general consensus was that Quantum Of Solace took the rough editing and shaking cameras a little too far. It’s a bold opening sequence, and one thing immediately stands out: the camera is rock solid....

Now winter is coming and the console war is back upon us. Nintendo has already botched its next-gen system release, with underwhelming sales and buzz surrounding Wii U, and company’s dwindling relevancy has made the latest console war a two-system battle. This time around, Cartman isn’t just concocting a way to get the system he covets—in this case he’s all in on the Xbox One—but he’s injecting himself into the battle in what appears to be South Park’s latest multiple episode arc, “Black Friday....

The boys witness a television advert appealing for donations to third world countries where every day children die of starvation. The appeal is made by Sally Struthers (again, a celebrity I am not aware of but whom Trey and Matt clearly dislike), a morbidly obese woman perhaps not best suited to preaching about lack of food. For sponsoring one of the starving children, the advert declares a free sports watch up for grabs, and so the boys call up to sponsor a child....

Remember the New World Order plot, Nightingale and such? Well, guess what? It’s not mentioned again this week. (Please, Spookie writers, resolve this, thanks.) Instead, when the Home Secretary stops fiddling with his app, this week’s episode moves to the Middle East as ‘Lighthouse’, the codename for a covert operator, attempts to bring peace to the region. Kicking things off, we are introduced to Dana Morrison, an investigative reporter who seems to have inside knowledge of what’s going on with the secret talks....

Hurray for Colin Salmon, as not getting to be James Bond has meant he can play loads of special ops bad-asses and bring his own brand of cool sophistication and wry humour to loads of different films and telly shows. And thankfully for us he, is here in this weeks Spooks as a US special envoy, Mr Beecher, stating that here in the UK we have caused numerous problems with the war in Afghanistan due to our old fashioned and out of date computer security systems....

One of the refrains in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, writer-director Rian Johnson’s sequel to 2015’s The Force Awakens, is that we have to let go of the past in order to move forward. Kylo Ren, still licking his wounds from the last movie, says as much at least once. So too does Luke Skywalker, disillusioned and curmudgeonly on the planet Ahch-To, and fixed on placing his Jedi past behind him....

Star Wars Rebels: Season 4 Episode 5 Ezra’s return to Lothal is a chance to see just how much the young Jedi has changed. As it turns out, it’s also a glimpse at what Rebels might be doing more now that the series is drawing to a close. “The Occupation” wraps up a lot of loose ends from season one, showing an environmentally devastated Lothal and the oppressive rule of the Empire....

2.2 Aftermath It opens with a major event that was almost destined to happen since the show began just over a year ago, as Dr Rush finds the ship’s bridge. He quickly becomes familiar with a few of the ship’s systems, including how Destiny picks the planets it stops within range of, with a little help from his friends. His dead wife Gloria and the missing Dr Franklin appear to him and help him figure out what to do now that he has found the controls to Destiny’s key systems....

Supergirl Episode 12 Bizarro stories are tough. On the one hand, they’re all Frankenstein riffs, and there’s only so many ways you can do that dance, and most Frankenstein stories don’t end up being all that faithful to the actual intent of the story anyway. But “Bizarro” walks the line nicely. We get about as plausible an origin story as you can ever hope to get in one of these. We get some convincing/cool Bizarro make-up....

Supergirl season 1 episode 9 This should have been the best episode of Supergirl. It really should have. All of the elements were there to put this one over as the weightiest episode to date, and the one where all the necessary pieces came together exactly as they should. “Blood Bonds” is still very good, mind you. It’s probably still the best episode of the series if I’m being completely honest, but it chickened out and walked back the best moment of the previous episode, and that’s an almost unforgivable sin....

“Oh, I was like, ‘There’s no way Laurie Metcalf is gonna do this show,’” Jordan told Den of Geek of his first reaction to hearing of Metcalf’s casting as Winn’s estranged mom. “‘No way she’s gonna be my mom. Come on.’ But, no, it was great. It turns out she’s a big fan of the show and she watches it with her daughter. They love it, and so she was super into it....

Supergirl Season 2, Episode 13 “Mr. & Mrs. Mxyzptlk” is the kind of TV episode that would have played a bit better if it aired on the holiday it centers its plot around — in this case, The Day of Valentine — but not much. In many ways, Supergirlhas found its feet in Season 2, but it is at its best when it is seamlessly integrating character development and interpersonal drama into the mix while focusing on a more political and/or action-oriented “A” plot....

So here’s a question. What do these four things have in common: a giant sandwich, a Greys Anatomy spoof, a Japanese game show called ‘nutcracker’ and Sam Winchester contracting genital herpes? Well, in the world of Supernatural it can mean only one thing. Last night’s excellent episode, Changing Channels, which poured on the comedic patter in bucket loads yet still managed to throw in an additional ‘never saw it coming’ moment....

6.18 Frontierland Having never heard of a phoenix in modern times, Dean convinces Castiel to send them back to 1861. Time to mount up and hit the trail. Cowboy hats and time travel. Seems to be the weekend for it. I knew a Wild West episode was coming, and was looking forward to it, but this was better than I expected. The opening teaser and the credits set up what is obviously going to be a very fun episode, but while it isn’t the most serious of episodes, there are some very important developments, especially where Castiel is concerned....

The fellow with the polyester hairpiece isn’t Bruce Willis’ character Tom Greer, it’s Tom’s surrogate. Surrogates are lifelike robots that sync up to one’s brain and that users can control via special couches and headsets that look like a dentist chair with tanning booth goggles and laptop computer parts attached. Provided your brain still works, you can control a Surrogate, and that Surrogate can look like anyone or be anything....

Co-Captain For example, this was a Mulcahy episode, and it was incredible. Mulcahy has a great way of framing the shots he uses, and he alternates between hanhandheld cameras and the Dutch angle expertly as he finds the right tone for the scenes playing on screen. This week’s episode was masterfully done, probably the best episode of the series just from a pure visual filmmaking standpoint. There weren’t any wasted set pieces, the use of chiaroscuro throughout the episode was brilliant, and the show just seemed to keep moving the entire time, not even bogging down in the various Scott/Allison discussion segments....

3.15 Galvanize Kira and her family have been one of the more amusing additions to the Teen Wolf family, if only for one major reason. After three seasons of craziness, Scott and Stiles are pretty much adults in the sense that they’ve been through a lot of awful things with Peter, Gerard, Deucalion and the Alpha Pack, the Darach, and so on. Kira… has been through none of these things; indeed, she’s even less damaged than the average Beacon Hills teenager because she’s so new in town, she hasn’t yet found out just how short the average lifespan is in that city due to all the supernatural monsters....

Strange Things Happen At The One Two Point is both a Chinese proverb about the game Go, and the title of episode 10 of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. And having just watching it, I’m in need of even more proverbs and psychotherapy, because my brain may have just exploded! Not only did the events in this story entirely freak me out, I’ve now gone to that paranoid place where just about anything can happen, and in this show it might very well do so....
