However, the animals aren’t about to allow that, and the best solution they have is to break their code of silence, actually speak to a human, and teach Griffin how to be a macho, alpha male to win over Stephanie’s heart....
Cedric The Entertainer guest starred in tonight’s episode, as Earl’s son. The girls ruin his shirt, and offer to buy him a new one to replace it. They take him shopping and buy him a new suit with their new credit card, after realizing he isn’t as funny as he thinks he is. It’s good to see Cedric The Entertainer back in the spotlight–even though he plays a not-so-funny comedian....
Liz is full of the Christmas spirit and tries to encourage all the staff of TGS With Tracy Jordan to participate in a program of toys for underprivledged children. Jenna is just full of spirits and tipsily vounteers. The others, apart from Kenneth, aren’t so keen. But Tracy breaks down in tears on hearing the first letter to Santa and, rather than pledging the shoes the child pleaded for, intends to send the tot a jet ski....
Alas, the material doesn’t live up to the star calibre, nor the literally limitless potential suggested by the title. Loosely based on H.G. Wells’ fantastical comedy short story The Man Who Could Work Miracles, the film begins when a group of power-crazed aliens (voiced by the Pythons) discover a probe with information on Earth’s culture and decide to put the planet to the test. They will grant absolute power to a randomly selected human for 10 days, to examine whether Earth’s dominant species is capable of good rather than evil, with designs on destroying it if not....
“Straw Man” refers to the villain of the week, a serial killer who takes transient teenagers, removes their internal organs (including the brain), and replaces it with (you guessed it) straw. This particular M.O. may seem more appropriate for Gotham City than the world of Almost Human, but that’s not really the big problem here. The problem with “Straw Man” is simply that this is a “business as usual” episode of Almost Human, and not, in any way, an actual season finale....

7.7 Valerie Solanas Died For Your Sins: Scumbag In many ways, Lena Dunham is the perfect fit for Valerie Solanas, a controversial figure who is best known for shooting and nearly killing artist Andy Warhol while espousing a radical form of political philosophy summed up in the man-hating SCUM manifesto. While SCUM might or might not have stood for “Society for Cutting Up Men” in real life, the American Horror Story take on the mentally unstable Solanas is definitely going to take that route, transforming Solanas from a fringe figure in The Factory to a cult-leader and the mind behind the Zodiac Killer’s violent reign of terror in San Francisco in the early 1970s....
3.1 Bitchcraft In the first episode I saw of Game of Thrones, there was one character that immediately hooked me. That was Tyrion Lannister. I knew watching Peter Dinklage live in that role that he would be my gateway into the rest of the programme, and that’s been true throughout the many seasons of Game of Thrones. I’ve gained an appreciation for the many other characters and performances, but the most indelible memory is of Peter Dinklage....
3.7 The Dead Tonight’s episode was jam-packed with great things, weird things, and all the fun things we’ve come to expect from American Horror Story, and the script, from writer and creator Brad Falchuk, pulls all the elements together pretty efficiently and very effectively. Madison Montgomery hasn’t been the most relatable of characters this season, but she’s showing some serious signs of life (err, undeath?) since she returned to the mortal realm thanks to Misty Day’s deus ex-machina....
American Horror Story Season 7, Episode 9 American Horror Story: Cult serves up a sweet treat for its season 7 Halloween episode. Don’t take a chance on biting an apple with a razor blade in it, “Drink the Kool-Aid.” Sometimes we all want to drink the Kool-Aid. It’s not just refreshing, it’s mind numbing. And it is so much easier than fighting over realities that drive you insane. There is an old expression along the lines of give me the strength to deal with the shit I cannot change, and if that doesn’t work, pass me a bottle and a bottle of pills....
This episode makes the third installment in a row that Archer had a bit of recurring plot, which may be a breakthrough for the series. Opening well after the fact, an all-dolled up Mallory not so favorably passes judgment on her failed staff, particularly her returned son and his two hostage/sidekicks who look much too worse for wear. The three former Isis agents, who had spent two weeks in Colombia while failing to sell 100 pounds kilograms whatever Euro-gibberish gutter glitter they had brought with them, came back with nothing but empty hands and big dreams....

The original team versus the new recruits. The Waterbending Scroll But while Aang has a moment fretting to himself over the importance of his destiny, it’s quickly decided that there’s no point stressing out about it. Aang, Sokka and Katara decide to just get on with business. And so does Avatar, with one of its most enjoyable episodes so far Sure, there were irritating flaws, most obvious being the total abandonment of the great Zuko-alone cliffhanger at the end of Avatar Roku (seriously, so lame....
1.9 Always The Cowboy Given his fragile state of mind, we can forgive Gordon Hopewell for seeming a tad ungrateful to Lucas Hood for rushing his wife for medical attention. Hood at least makes an attempt at covering his tracks as to why it’s him who brought Ana in, but they’re so half hearted you get the impression he never held out too much hope that Gordon would believe him....
2.10 The Immutable Truth The trouble with lie detectors is that the truth is frequently subjective. Did Norman kill Blair Watson? Yes, in the strict sense that it was his hands that performed the murderous act. But was it Norman? Had Romero been able to subject the boy to the examination prior to his enforced remembering in the steel box, he may well have passed through ignorance of commission. This week, having finally been wired up, Norman did indeed pass....
Kara’s speedy, professional response to this, giving Gaeta the urgent medical help he needs, reasserts her conflicted role. Over the past few seasons she’s gone from being a crazy, brilliant rookie, to planning attacks and leading her own unit – a transition made utterly realistic by Katee Sackhoff’s accomplished turn. Yet she’s the one who has caused her own crew, and almost this reviewer, to give up on her. Meanwhile, for the Cylons this situation is just as risky – with no resurrection ship nearby the two species are as equally alive as they would be dead....
So we’ve finally reached the end of Bedlam’s issue-ridden second series, and this finale leaves us with plenty of exciting things to look forward to (should there be a third series), as well as some troublesome things to leave right where they are. Possibly as a reaction to the negative comments the show received this time last year, a lot of questions are answered and plot lines finished, with everything from who Eve is to Warren and Kate’s stories wrapped up quite nicely....
Ed Wood was bold, though. There, Alexander, Karaszewski and Burton took someone regarded in certain quarters as the worst filmmaker of all time, and injected him with positivity and a self-belief that few were expecting. The pay-off was not just how entertaining Ed Wood remains as a film, but how much more impactful it makes the sadder moments of the movie. It remains, for my money, Tim Burton’s best film....
In advance of its launch, we got to natter with him about his projects, what he’s up to next, and his plans for the next Star Trek film… That’s right. When I was at school I was the only ‘A’ Level music student and she was my tutor. And so she took me through the whole exam procedure, but more than that she was my piano teacher as well. So she taught me the piano and encouraged me to, basically, really challenge myself and push myself to do things that I wouldn’t have done before....
Black Sails Season 3 Episode 6 Gotta say, I was expecting Black Sails to give us a little more action this time around. We’re still dragging along with setup, though I’ll admit the setup is moving along a little more smoothly with this week’s episode. It was also pleasant to see that the shamanic healing ritual being practiced among the Maroons was treated with intelligence and respect. I did a little poking around, and couldn’t immediately DISprove the ritual being used, though I do think that it might have been more appropriate for the Queen to be doing the ritual for her husband....
