Children Of Time Movie Adaptation Gets Screenwriter

According to Variety, Lionsgate has hired Colby Day to adapt the Arthur C. Clarke Award-winning science fiction novel from Adrian Tchaikovsky. Colby has previously worked on In the Blink of an Eye, a science fiction drama intertwining three stories. It was fifth on the 2016 Blacklist of best unproduced scripts. Peter Kang and Meredith Wieck are overseeing the adaptation of Children of Time for Lionsgate. Here’s the official synopsis from Pan Macmillan: But all is not right in this new Eden....

Community Season 5 Episode 5 Review Geothermal Escapism

5.5 Geothermal Escapism Bon Troyage, Donald Glover! With proud pocket translator owner Troy Barnes sailing away in pursuit of millions of dollars, (and being a man, or whatever Pierce said) Britta rightly fears that the group will channel their sadness and anxiety into their usual avoidance tactics, resulting in frivolity and carnage. Sure enough, Abed sets the tone early on. In the wake of paintball and pillow fights, the natural evolution of the college’s chaotic hangouts is for Abed to declare that the floor is made of lava....

Constantine Episode 1 Review Non Est Asylum

1.1 Non Est Asylum I’m no Master of the Dark Arts, but reviewing a TV pilot is a bit of a psychic exercise in itself. Reviewing a pilot of a show with a history as momentous as Constantine’s is like doing a psychic reading, exorcising Nergal, battling lung cancer, and trying to bang several attractive women and attractive men all at the same time. How can we possibly tell from 45 minutes of screen time whether Constantine will do justice to the greatness that Hellblazer built up in over 25 years of edgy storytelling, scathing social commentary, and fearless leaps into the horror of the human psyche?...

Continuum Season 3 Premiere Minute By Minute Review

So – good to know – Continuum has no intention of holding our hands to help us navigate the complexities of time travel and paradoxes. Luckily, we don’t need a degree in physics to understand the basic fact established by the end of this episode: there are #TwoAlecsOneKiera (yes, that’s an official hashtag for the show now). Kellog now knows about Escher’s antimatter set-up days earlier than he did before....

Crazy Ex Girlfriend Season 2 Episode 3 Review All Signs Point To Josh Or Is It Josh S Friend

This review contains spoilers. Are you Team Josh or Team Greg? If you’re invested in Rebecca choosing either of them, you were in for a nasty surprise in this episode. Though it might’ve been just about possible to watch most of season one like a standard romcom, season two isn’t pulling any of its punches. Over the course of this week’s episode, it’s been made pretty clear that the only romance narrative here is entirely inside Rebecca’s head, and none of it can stand up to reality....

Dara O Briain Gig Review

Here it is: I am not a small person. I fully understand that sitting behind me isn’t the ticket you expect to get when you spend ages on the end of a booking line on-hold message. I also, however, have this tendency to appreciate that, and will move as required so the person behind me can see properly, even if the arrangement of the theatre means I’m not really blocking their view....

Dark Matter I Ve Seen The Other Side Of You Review

Dark Matter Season 2, Episode 3 It finally came! The episode that was bound to happen, in which at least some of the Raza crew regained their earlier memories, came to fruition in this week’s Dark Matter, and perhaps because it was expected, the execution felt a little haphazard. Despite this minor shortcoming, however, the lead-in and the aftermath provided new avenues to explore, especially with the shifting group dynamics, and the introduction of additional mysteries is always the best part of each episode....

Dark Matter Kill Them All Review

Dark Matter Season 2, Episode 2 The reunion of the Raza crew (minus One) came sooner than expected, and oddly, it will be sad to see the end, presumably, of the prison moon. The storylines of the separated team members has been a wonderfully complex start to this season of Dark Matter, and hopefully now that they’re back with the Raza, the group dynamics will continue to explore new territory. Fortunately, the addition of Nyx, Arax, and Devon to the manifest should help with that....

Dc Earth 2 Review

Writer James Robinson is no stranger to these characters, thanks to his work on Starman, JSA, and the classic Elseworlds mini-series, The Golden Age (now collected as JSA: The Golden Age), all of which explored some of the dustier corners of the Justice Society’s legacy. While Robinson is a little too fond of expository dialogue in Earth 2, we’re spared most of the long-winded awkwardness that marred much of his run on Superman a few years back....

Defiance Bottom Of The World And Doll Parts Review

The most exciting part of the first hour was Irisa’s theft of the terrasphere and the rapture of the chosen few Votans. I won’t pretend to understand what it all means, but at least Irzu’s plan is moving forward. Over the course of the double episode, it becomes clear that Irisa is no longer in control of the fate Irzu is steering her towards, which I’m not sure would have been as clear if there had been a week between episodes....

Den Of Thieves O Shea Jackson Jr Pablo Schreiber Talk Capturing Real La

Jackson and Pablo Schreiber sat down to discuss just that with Den of Geek this past week. Chatting with us about how he noted that director Christian Gudegast is as much of an LA kid as he is, the film was an opportunity to go big into the realm of action movies for the up and coming actor, who made waves in two other LA stories with the very real Straight Outta Compton and the much stranger, but ever authentic, Ingrid Goes West....

Dexter Season 5 Episode 7 Review Circle Us

5.7 Circle Us As least two passages of dialogue made me laugh out loud, the first of which was Dexter’s reaction to the appearance, courtesy of his Irish nanny, of a religious figurine next to Harrison. “That’s either a saint, or the most unexciting action figure ever.” But that was topped later by some images that Dexter took of men he thought might be Lumen’s abductors, where she sees in the shot Vince Masuka and immediately identifies him as “a freak”....

Dexter Season 6 Episode 6 Review Just Let Go

6.6 Just Let Go Just Let Go has three really strong narrative threads running that it that work seamlessly together for some real Dexter magic. The Doomsday Killer story is one, and it isn’t exactly put on hold, but it’s certainly not at the forefront of what’s happening. That accolade goes to poor old Brother Sam, fatally injured at the end of episode five, and the deep impact that’s having on Dexter’s personality....

Dexter Season 7 Episode 2 Review Sunshine And Frosty Swirl

7.2 Sunshine And Frosty Swirl Her reaction, well beyond the up-chuck, was typically pragmatic for her character. As she helped Dexter eliminate the crime scene, she’s now an accessory to murder, and as such if she arrests him, she also has to turn herself in. The idea that Dexter can suddenly develop some self-control is charming, if naive, in the same way that for some people addiction or obsession isn’t something that can be cured by a change of scenery....

Do No Harm Season 1 Episode 2 There May Be An Episode Title Name But Who Cares The Show Sucks

No, I’m not referring to the second episode of NBC’s latest attempt at an interesting drama. Well, I sort of am. Because last night, I thought I had something to watch. But then I said, it’s Thursday. I don’t have anything to watch! I went blissfully to sleep, and awoke the next morn to sleet, cold weather, gray clouds, finding Nemo (please, I’m not the only one to make the pun) descending upon my city and the dread realization that yes, I did have something to watch last night: the next episode of that boring, clichéd, disappointing show Do No Harm....

Dollhouse Season 2 Episode 1 Review

It’s with a sense of apprehension that I greeted the second season opener of Dollhouse, after what wasn’t an inspirational first run. There’s a whole lot of things about Dollhouse that I don’t accept, like the idea of expensive hookers, but for at least two stories in the original run it transcended that banality and showed a glimpse of something greater. Boyd invites her to dinner, but importunely she can’t go because Topher has programmed her to never leave the Dollhouse through a range of phobias....

Dragon Ball Super Episode 43 Review Goku S Energy Is Out Of Control The Struggle To Look After Pan

Dragon Ball Super Episode 43 “Well, maybe it’s time to take a break from all the fighting and spend some time taking care of your granddaughter.” Dragon Ball Super continues to enjoy its time off from saving the world. The show trades in its recent doom and gloom mentality for unbridled silliness and physical comedy. As a result, “Goku’s Energy Is Out of Control?!” certainly feels like non-essential Dragon Ball and if there’s any episode to miss this season, this is the one....

Dylan Moran Interview Stand Up Live Dvds Touring

You take your tours all over the world. Do you end up tailoring it much to different international audiences? I’ve had a show in the West End: quite a few have come from Sweden, quite a few from Germany, quite a few from Estonia. Those people are fantastic linguists anyway, and they’re wonderful audiences. Elementary Pilot Episode Review

Imagine a world where the BBC’s Sherlock never existed. A world where Gatiss and Moffat dreamt up some other adventure to while away the time on those train journeys to Cardiff, where Sherlock Holmes had never been reincarnated as a modern-day, flappy-coated, high-cheekboned sociopath, and him off The Office stayed him off The Office forevermore. In that sad, grey Sherlock-less world, Elementary would be something of a treat. Not a treat of the highest order, granted, but a treat nonetheless, like a nice toasted crumpet on a cold day....
