If you asked many people do they remember Arena they might confuse it with at least two other stories, but if you asked about the ‘Gorn’ story, or the one with the lizard bloke, you’d get an immediate response. The Enterprise arrives at Cestus III Outpost. Kirk, Bones and three expendable crewmen beam down expecting dinner and instead find the outpost has been destroyed by an attacking ground force. While they’re on the surface, the unseen enemy ship turns up and attacks the Enterprise, marooning them on the surface until they pause their attack....

This is, after all, the movie that reveals how the Rebels got hold of the plans to the Death Star. That is, it’s the jumping-off point for A New Hope, perhaps the most important genre film of the late 20th century. With series creator George Lucas’ own prequels holding a contentious place in the hearts and minds of fans at best, you can see just how drastically Rogue One could go wrong....

Star Wars Rebels: Season 2, Episode 12 Like last week’s episode, “Legends of the Lasat” is one of many this season that explores the crew’s backstories. This time, it’s a story about faith and loss featuring Zeb. The episode is a vehicle for a beautiful new vista and some of the first Force magic that actually feels universal and larger than life. This season’s episodes still feel oddly disconnected from one another — “Legends of the Lasat” doesn’t fix all of the technical issues that were exacerbated instead of smoothed out in season two — but it is an uplifting look at how Star Wars touches on spirtuality....

It was revealed at Celebration Orlando that this will be the show’s final season. While its bittersweet, the show will give all of its beloved characters a proper send off. We’ll have to wait and see if they all make it out of this season alive… Star Wars Rebels Season 4 Series Finale Star Wars Rebels season 4 will return with episode 14, which is titled “A Fool’s Hope,” and the two-part series finale, which is called “Family Reunion – And Farewell....

2.10 Resurgence Mr Brody finds a signal while working on the bridge, and it points to signs of intelligent life, but it’s a detour from the course that Destiny was intended to take. A plan is made to steer the ship in that direction, and when they arrive, all they find is a whole lot of destroyed battleships. When they decide to investigate one of the ships, something unexpected happens and it catches everyone off guard, but it leads to an interesting domino effect that can only be described as bloody awesome....

10.6 Ask Jeeves The Clue-esque aspects ensure that pop culture references come thick and fast, not in the least from the board game itself as Dean makes his way through the various iconic weapons during his search of the house. There’s even a brief nod to Tim Curry’s character, Wadsworth, in the film adaptation and whilst it might not have been as slapstick as that movie, the funny moments came thick and fast throughout the episode....

Wayward Sisters will follow Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes), Sheriff Donna Hanscum (Briana Buckmaster), and a group of orphans as they fight the same kinds of supernatural forces that left them without parents. Den of Geek was part of a group of reporters on Supernatural‘s Vancouver set this fall. We had the chance to talk to Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, as well as Buckmaster, about the upcoming episode....

3.16 Illuminated Another benefit to the show’s overall quality is the presence of director and executive producer Russell Mulcahy. As the show’s primary director, he’s done a lot in establishing its general style, specifically its use of light and shadow, the use of reflected lights rather than direct lighting when possible, and the general… neon-nightmarish look that Teen Wolf reaches toward. I’m sure his background in 80s music videos helps keep the show’s eye attuned on its frequently shirtless cast members, too....

Also suggesting a new Metalhead are the Terminator 2 references. The obvious allusion is the thumbs up exchanged between Metalhead and Donnie at the end (and like Simon Pegg in Spaced, the ending made me emotional). The less obvious reference though, is that Metalhead basically became Skynet. At the end of the episode, Donnie remarks, “I programmed him to be intelligent, but I didn’t realize how much he had evolved....

3.3 Ye Who Enter Here And boy, does that animosity light up this show. Without it, we might still have been interested in watching the political meetings play out and the Sky People consider whether they should join the coalition as the thirteenth clan, but it wouldn’t have been half as engaging as it’s turned out to be. Clarke and Lexa’s partnership-turned-romance was one of the best parts of season two, and that hasn’t changed now that we’re in the swing of its third run....

But for some episodes in the recent run, it’s been a really fair query, and I’ve kind of wondered why I’m doing it myself. The Apprentice has been recycling its old, familiar tasks, with generally quite good results, but not in any way that’s got over the feeling of a general lack of ideas. It hasn’t helped that Baron von Sugar’s one liners have been genuinely quite tragic. So what could they pull out of the pot this week?...

They wouldn’t even have had to steal songs from their as-yet-and still undreamed of soundtrack for Yellow Submarine to do it. The Beatles had everything on tape already to make that happen. All they had to do was put the album out the way traditional film soundtracks were done at the time. The American album versions of A Hard Day’s Night and Help! included the incidental music from the movies....

11.3 The Relaxation Integration But what if the mounting stress of all the changes he’s been through over the past few years snapped his brain somehow, and marrying Amy is the final straw for uptight, anal Sheldon. Nah, that will never happen, but The Relaxation Integration poses the question anyway. When Amy starts to notice her fiance is talking in his sleep, pondering the interesting conversations he could have with a hitchhiker or what it would be like to befriend a seagull, she worries that the pressure of organising the perfect wedding might be getting to him....

3.1 The Face of Death So while The Holy Father languishes near death, the family pulls tightly together. While Cesare and Micheletto go to the monastery to hunt Delle Rovere, the cardinal pops up in the Vatican itself. Rumours of Alexander Sextus’ death were greatly exaggerated. Oops. He then has the stones to gather the other cardinals in the Pope’s room as they wait for him to turn one way or the other....

Ringo says he makes this announcement with peace and love, but I can read between the lines. That son of a bitch is dying. Specifically, he’s dying on October 21st. Now, whether this means Ringo will take his own life or expire from a predetermined fatal ailment, I don’t know. I’m not that good at reading between the lines. However, I can assure you Ringo Starr is the Grim Reaper’s next major appointment....

Anyone not in on the joke was probably writing in to Anne Robinson after five minutes, but everyone else was witnessing one of the greatest comedy series of the 90s and arguably ever shown on TV. The Day Today, a relentless, terrifically biting satire, was six episodes of headlines, financial reports, documentary-style films and talking heads sending up current affairs programmes to the point of complete ridicule. Sadly, creator Chris Morris – whether knowingly or not – foretold the future of news reporting with its overblown graphics and dramatic theme tune, and hit so many other nails squarely on the head that those who watched the show are now left wondering whether he had a crystal ball....

Thank God for limpets. Without them and their narrative contrivance-pathogens, justice wouldn’t have been served. We’re not talking legal justice of course, the courts of law – pockmarked as they are by fallibility – were proved roughly as useful as a teapot by Cadbury’s in this gripping final instalment to The Escape Artist. Will was no fool, having masterminded a fiendish plan the exposition of which unwound like a particularly memorable Columbo....

The Expanse Season 1 Episode 3 The situation on Ceres is the easiest to comprehend. The frustration is understandable with water rations and filthy air endangering lives and basic human rights. Detective Miller struggles to keep the peace, but it’s actually more believable that he’s not completely successful. In fact, it’s difficult to disagree with his captain who actively encourages him to close the Julia Mao case and move on; it’s now a matter of waiting for him to succeed in spite of everyone being against him....

The Flash Season 2 Episode 12 It’s exceedingly rare, but sometimes I feel like The Flash isn’t really trying. “Fast Lane” was anything but what that title would lead you to believe. It was disjointed and poorly-paced, with perhaps the most disposable villain in the show’s history making an appearance to go through the motions. So, I’ll stop with this in a minute. Tar Pit is dreadful, the half-assed connection to Wally’s drag-racing hobby was regrettable, and there was little reason for us to keep coming back to him at all, other than that brief (and not bad at all, to be honest) shot of him in all his glory....

The Flash Season 3 Episode 7 I’ve been saying this over and over whenever the issue of Caitlin’s heel turn to Killer Frost comes up or is hinted at on this show: they’re getting it right. And holy moley, the actual episode, “Killer Frost” didn’t disappoint in that regard. The Flash was an absolute masterclass in how you toy with the long term fate of a beloved character, bring her all the way to the brink, and give fans heart conditions in the process....
