But also: jokes. In “Teambuilding Exercise” we get to see what happens immediately after Richard knocks on Gavin Belson’s door. The answer as it turns out is: quite a bit. Well Gavin has trashed his mansion for one. But Richard eventually convinces him to join him on his mission to build a new internet. Not before Richard accidentally lights his house on fire though. Richard and Gavin begin the process of finding employees for their new venture....

6.3 Poenitentia It seems more then coincidental that the journal that the young shooter kept continues to be mentioned and that in this episode we see Jax writing in his journal for the first time in quite some time. Jax has always managed to pull the club out of any perilous situation that they have found themselves in but the one line that Jax has never crossed was in betraying his brothers....

As you might remember, season six featured the trademark PTSD-inducing plot of which writer/creator Kurt Sutter is famous for. Nothing was off limits, and there was no letting up off the tension. Balls to the wall? Oh, you betchya. In the end Jax may have gotten the Sons out from under the thumb of the Irish, but he had to cede Tara’s point; the mother of his children should not go to prison for helping with club business....

There may be way more going on behind the scenes than the first four episodes indicate, but right now Cartman is positioned as the reluctant hero, something we never thought would happen in South Park. We know Cartman isn’t SkankHunt42. He has a girlfriend and possibly has seen a vagina, meaning he now fully understands that girls don’t have balls, proving that they’re so much more than ball-less creatures that occupy the other side of the playground....

It’s almost jarring when this episode begins and you’re greeted to images of happy, celebrating people drenched in sunlight. A more-cheerful-than-usual rendition of “Going to the Wedding Chapel” blares on the soundtrack and you might even question if you’re watching the right show. Of course, all of this is very quickly torn apart, by a renegade bullet no less, blasting this idyllic image to pieces, and taking the bride-to-be with it....

1.11 Give Me A Torch And Give Me a Torch was the perfect environment for them to shine, with a winter-themed school dance giving the show the best excuse to get all of their carefully nurtured couples into uniquely stressful situations. The first was Roman and Emery, fresh off their breakup and that familiar, awkward dance of friendship and embarrassment. The real twist in their relationship this week, though, was Grayson’s return to the game with his pledge to deliver a message of tolerance with the ‘new’ Red Hawks, suckering Emery in and adding her to the ranks of the opposition....

1.12 This Trick May Chance To Scathe You Which is all we could have hoped for, really, with the last few episodes showing a marked improvement compared to the muddled early days of the show. There’s now something definite to root for, whether that’s the doomed love triangle between Grayson, Emery and Roman or the sweet romance between Drake and Taylor, and each of the personal stories more or less links into the overarching themes the show set out to cover....

The Jedi pair act more like an Old Republic Master-Padawan team in this episode than ever before, but just as Kanan is beginning to teach well, the emotions that resurfaced when Ezra visited his childhood home bring him close to the dark side. Tseebo is also a more serious character than he was in “Empire Day,” with a lot of pathos and varied voice work by Peter MacNacol. While Ezra thus far isn’t a flat character, his problems are the same problems that the many, many orphaned fictional heroes face....

3.4 The Antilles Extraction Sabine has had a lot of potential since Star Wars Rebels began. The young Mandalorian has taken a backseat to Ezra for most of the show, so an episode featuring her looked like it might add some much-needed characterisation as well as tell a story that connected to the Original Trilogy. In The Antilles Extraction, Sabine infiltrates an Imperial training academy to rescue some teenage pilots who have grown dissatisfied with the regime....

Divided Things kick off with a double header of a dream from the inner workings of Chloe Armstrong’s mind with accompanying music You Won’t Know by Brand New. It’s a brilliantly executed sequence, and it shows how well rock music like this can work effectively. When Chloe (Elyse Levesque) and Dr Rush are experiencing the same dreams and nightmares, the conclusion is that the aliens must still have a connection to their former prisoners....

2.13 Alliances The first person to make his decision was Sgt Greer, who immediately chose to stay, and that decision shows us just how committed to being a soldier he is. Even without that knowledge, Camile Wray has noticed, and takes him with her on a communication stones visit to Earth. The reason is to give the new head of off-world spending committee, Senator Michaels, and a scientist Rush used to work with, Dr Covel, a chance to visit Destiny and review recent events aboard the ship....

Packed off to a home for the criminally insane, Baby Doll faces a gloomy fate: a lobotomy and further abuse from the home’s boss, Blue Jones (Oscar Isaac). It’s this second set of fantasy worlds that we’ve seen so much of in Sucker Punch’s trailers, with their giant robots, exotic gun fights and slow-motion wire-fu sequences that drip with CG augmentation. In each fantasy, Baby Doll meets Wise Man (Scott Glenn), who acts as her mentor and quartermaster, telling her where she needs to go next and handing her a weapon or two while he does it....

9.5 Dog Dean Afternoon But, surprisingly, this episode wasn’t as crazy as it wanted to be. In fact, by Supernatural standards, it was rather sane, and though it had a number of glaring problems, it was also entertaining – even if it rather formulaically followed the Supernatural recipe for a standard Monster-of-the-Week episode. The first part of that formula dictates a good old-fashioned scary opener of the kind that made Supernatural’s first season such a wonderful work of horror....

4.5 I.E.D. There are still teenager concerns to be dealt with, but most of this week’s episode of Teen Wolf is about situations most teenagers will hopefully never have to deal with, like learning how to handle your homicidal rage and claw powers or how to communicate with the spirit world to crack a high-tech code to find out out which of your friends is on a $117 million dollar hit list courtesy of The Benefactor....

2.16 Blood Must Have Blood (Part 2) There have been plenty of casualties, but Clarke’s decision to wipe out the entire population of Mount Weather is definitely the most morally troubling we’ve seen yet (a tough call). With Finn’s death, we had been told of what would happen had Clarke not gone through with it and, with the Tondc bombing a few weeks back, it was painted very much as Lexa’s decision that Clarke was simply – reluctantly – going along with....

The Affair is a show about infidelity in New York City, which perhaps doesn’t sound that original, especially in the television landscape that we’ve seen over the past few years. The episode is drenched in swimming imagery, as we see Noah Solloway (Dominic West) doing laps and constantly submerging and emerging himself. It’s no coincidence that shots these shots open the series. Unsurprisingly, Noah and Helen’s (Maura Tierney) family are perfectly typical....

For we learn that Clarke’s character here – coincidentally in a film not a million miles away from Edge Of Tomorrow in theme – is a man who has a small amount of time, before he drifts into unconsciousness, only to wake up somewhere else in the world, and sometimes much later on. So what’s going on? Well, clues to the mystery seem to lie in the shape of Ian Somerhalder’s Harkin....

But I’m getting a bit ahead of myself. I didn’t actually write a review of last week’s show, given that I was on holiday at the time, but the last two episodes have proven the theory that The Apprentice is at its best when it’s mid-season. Last week’s exercise, in creating gym equipment and pitching to three companies, was really quite good. But this week’s –with the teams having to come up with a natural beauty products – was even better....

Being one, being perceived as one, taking them out, and taking them down by revealing some secret shame. It’s hard to imagine that Andrew Cunanan could exist in this way if he didn’t hate himself. He clearly hates himself for many reasons, but chief among them are the fact that he isn’t a somebody and the fact that he’s gay....
