Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 1 Right off the bat, it looks like things are going to hell very quickly as the night is punctuated by not-so-distant explosions. We don’t have to wait long this time for walkers to appear. They shuffle out of the darkness, en masse, a hissing, mindless horde. But what’s more compelling about this first scene of the new season is Chris’ reluctance to leave behind his mother’s body....
‘So we drank all night from the kegI passed out, then awoke with one legI said, “Petrov, have you seen my leg?”He said “No” and he went back to bed…But he looked suspiciously well fed.‘ Roll on a month and its little surprise that they’ve been unable to raise the necessary funds. They go to Murray for help who pitches an idea of a musical, based on their experiences, to them....
“You’re the dick in this scenario, Jemaine. For calling Jim a dick. Yes! How does that feel? A taste of your own dick medicine!” This line was by far the highlight of a very average episode. I suppose after the two ace episodes that followed a poor start, a duff one was due sooner or later. In this episode Murray wants to take his friendship with the boys to the next level (hence the title) on his friendship graph....
1.19 Punk Is Dead Punk Is Dead did neither of these things, instead choosing to tell a typical Forever mystery and then tack some dark foreboding on the end, quite cleverly. As Forever goes, it actually demonstrated well how the show has developed in terms of characters and writing, because everyone here is very relaxed about what they’re doing and the story flowed along very naturally. As someone who was there, the rejection of everything establishment other than drugs, money and early hearing impairment seems more than mildly childish in retrospect, but I digress....
His latest book is a collection of those aforementioned columns, along with the start of his unfinished novel, and, er, an obituary for Margaret Thatcher. And he spared us some time to talk about it all… You described stand up, when you started your last tour, as “going back to the source”. With the range of things you’re tackling now, is that need to do that still there, or does what you’d class as ‘the source’ alter a little?...

There’s a royal wedding to attend, and if you’re a viewer of Game Of Thrones, you’re invited to witness the marriage between King Joffrey of the Houses Lannister and Baratheon, and Queen Margaery of House Tyrell. There’s going to be all sorts of delicious food, awesome performance art, appearances by everyone’s favourite characters, and… oh yeah, maybe a little accident....
Chances are, too, that most of us know someone who has become dependent on alcohol. Chances are too that one or two of the people reading this article fall into that category. Appreciating that no Geeks Vs Loneliness piece promises or has miracle cures, hopefully there’s something in what we’re about to say that can help. It’s a huge step, for an obvious reason: how can you fix a problem, if you don’t admit there’s a problem in the first place?...

The part where Rose Walker writes in her diary and comments ‘I’ve been making a list of the things they don’t teach you in school. They don’t teach you how to love somebody… They don’t teach you how to know what’s going on in someone else’s mind....

Before we get into this week’s episode of Gotham, “Viper,” I should be clear, as a number of you have asked why I “hate” it. I do not hate this show. I knew early on that it would be an at times potentially awkward hybrid of a comic book show and a procedural. All I ask is that it do one (or better yet, both) of these things effectively. I’m pleased to report that “Viper” is a major step in the right direction for this show....
Gotham Season 4 Episode 2 The GCPD has never been known for its competency as a fictional police force, but, as a narrative body, it has generally maintained some motivational consistency. The current employees of the GCPD don’t even pretend to do their jobs, which I really feel like is the least you can ask. Gotham has dropped the bar so low for its GCPD background characters that they don’t even bother with the charade of being decent cops....
I spent the weekend telling all of my friends that Halo 5: Guardians is exactly the game I need right now. After countless hours spent playing open world games with checklist objectives and light stories, Halo 5 is a revelation of traditional storytelling and level design. Although there’s plenty of new in this game, both in terms of characters and game mechanics, 343’s latest offering feels like coming home. I won’t spoil any part of the story for you that hasn’t already been established in trailers....
Putting the stopper in the Harry Potter series was never going to be easy. A story that’s been ten years in the telling on page and screen, this final instalment was under considerably more pressure than its predecessors to provide spectacle and resolution, both of which it does, at times magnificently. In the first six films, he starred opposite a best of British Potter cast, boasting the likes of Gambon, Fiennes, Rickman, and Oldman....
At first glance, at least to this monolingual American viewer, El Hipnotizador may seem like a straight period drama, but that truth is quickly complicated as the first episode and season progresses. Zeppelins fill the sky of this fictional city where the border between magic and science is decidedly murky. (Think Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell.) Hypnotist Arenas has powers that go beyond what the real world recognizes as possible, as does his condition of perpetual insomnia, a punishment cast upon our enigmatic protagonist by his equally mysterious rival Darek....
With all of the introductions out of the way, Helix moves along at a fairly brisk pace in its third episode, “274.” It’s a bit less forgiving this time. You have to allow the first episode or two a certain amount of set-up and exposition, and with that grace period out of the way, it leaves some of Helix‘s weak spots a bit more exposed. Nevertheless, “274” also confirms that the show has a solid foundation that can probably withstand some awkward speed bumps and if nothing else, the rest of this season should be exciting stuff....
This episode saw Peter trying to teach Emma about her newly discovered powers, Claire and her roommate settling into their new life at college (that’s ‘university’ to those of us on the right side of the pond) and a newly-awakened, brain-wiped Sylar trying to learn who he is. And, of course, the token appearance by Edgar and the Carnival of the Damned. It also helps that this time Peter gets to play the experienced, guiding hand to someone, having gone through the discovery of his powers himself....
The outpouring of love from fans shows that The Clone Wars doesn’t have to justify its existence nowadays. Many fans first began following Star Wars because of The Clone Wars and have been asking for the show’s return since its cancelation, celebrating any time Rebels made a callback to its predecessor. But the announcement left me cold, especially since Star Wars books in the current era are also rehashing familiar characters instead of bringing in more new ones....
The worst outcome, a public shaming, divorce, and job loss from such a scandal at a moderate-sized university, might drive some men over the edge to murder. I might be wrong, but I don’t or can’t see mild-mannered Sam as a murderer. He has yet to show his backbone or raise his voice. There hasn’t been any foreshadowing of his possible guilt apart from the affair. It would be unfair to cobble together a few scenes over the final two episodes before revealing his killer....
Sensitive Enn (Alex Sharp) and his punk-mad mates are doing their best to tag along with the in-crowd in the legendarily raucous summer of 1977. The allure of the opposite sex and the riotous energy of the new music add a note of hormone-drenched terror to every interaction, but it’s not until a fateful post-gig attempt to find an afterparty that the real story begins. The three lads stumble upon a house inhabited by a bunch of dreamy, Californian-accented beings, all of them resplendent in brightly coloured costumes and rather tactile for ‘70s Croydon....
