Sailor Moon R Essential Viewing Guide

Now, there are episodes on this list that the main plot would make sense without, but they’re relatively few and are there mainly because while the plot doesn’t require them, the arcs of the characters do. Episodes that are pure comedy, while jewels in their own right, don’t make the cut. Hence, this is a list of the episodes you absolutely need to see. For my money, any dedicated Sailor Moon fan should watch every episode at least once, but maybe not on their first run-through....

Sanctum 3D Review

On the other hand, I’m also aware that after the multi-billion dollar success of Avatar, Sanctum executive producer, James Cameron, has the kind of money and power that, were I to say something he didn’t like, he could have me quickly and brutally killed within minutes, possibly at the hands of a giant forklift robot operated by the man himself. The 3D effects are okay. And there is a surprisingly nasty bit of gore about an hour in that is quite good....

Scream Vacancy Review

Scream Season 2 Episode 3 It is looking worse and worse for Audrey as the weeks go by, getting further away from her innocence and into too many compromising positions. Last night’s episode only made Audrey look guiltier as Emma’s relationship with her dad began to waiver. The Lakewood six, I’m sure, will eventually find out what happened to Jake. But, until then… little clues and hints will hopefully lead to the discovery of what happened to Jake and that a new killer is in town....

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider Review Her Greatest Adventure Yet

Set roughly two years after her last run in with the ancient military organisation, Lara’s latest adventure opens with a quick stint in Mexico, before moving to the dense jungles of Peru in search of (you guessed it!) a mysterious artefact. Visually, the new setting is a nice change-up to the bitter Siberian snows Lara faced during her last outing, giving players the chance to plunder everything from underground ancient ruins to forgotten hidden cities previously untouched by man....

Skins Series 4 Episode 3 Review

As it turns out, mummy is yummy well off artist and full time Tracey Emin tribute act, Ruth (Pulling‘s Tanya Franks). A woman who’s just as shag happy and boozed up as he is. Coming from such a background, the only sensible thing Cook could ever have done is rebel, really. But it’s all gotten a bit too much and his impending trial sees him becoming the second victim of Chris Addison’s evil headmaster’s zero-tolerance policy....

Solo A Star Wars Story Review

Then we come to Solo: A Star Wars Story, a space opera-western about the galaxy’s best-known pilot, smuggler and all-round rogue. Once headed up by directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street, The Lego Movie), it was instead completed by Hollywood veteran Ron Howard – reports suggest that Howard (Apollo 13, The Da Vinci Code) reshot as much as 70 percent of the movie after he was brought in last summer....

Sons Of Anarchy Straw Review

I braced myself for tonight and the 1.5 hour premier of Season 6. Kurt Sutter, SoA brain trust and lucky husband of the uber-talented and mega foxy Katie Sagal, swears that we are nearing the end. This is the second-to-last season. While I will be devastated to see the show end, Sutter knows it is better to go out with the fans wanting more, something that almost did not happen after the castastrophe which was Season 4....

Spartacus War Of The Damned Finale Review Victory

3.10 Victory If anything was wrong with the final episode, it was that it lacked twists. There were no fake-outs, no diversions from history, no surprises: just the grimly inevitable slaughter, beautifully finessed though it was. But what it lacked in twists, Victory made up for in sheer weight of drama. And that it had in spades. Caesar and Kore telling Crassus the awful truth about his recently dead son....

Storm 2 Review

How does one refer to a character as widely respected as Storm? Are we on first name terms? Ororo just doesn’t feel right, so I’m sticking with Storm. Pak’s dialogue sizzles in this issue – I loved the interplay between Storm and Callisto, heavy with anger and frustration, nicely setting up their (very!) complicated past relationship. In truth the only part of this issue I was not keen on were Wolverine’s appearances – I guess Marvel need to get as much mileage out of the character as possible before the upcoming Death Of Wolverine event, but it just felt a little out of place....

Supergirl Solitude Review

Supergirl Episode 15 Well, they sure packed a lot into “Solitude” didn’t they? I can’t tell if I’m simply blinded by just how much Superman mythology they hit us with this week or I’m simply impressed by how tightly paced and packed this and last week’s “Truth, Justice, and The American Way” were. Regardless, “Solitude” was solid, and flaws and all, it might be my favorite episode of the season. But you know what?...

Supernatural Katherine Ramdeen On What To Expect From Wayward Sisters

When Ramdeen first appeared on Supernatural in season 9’s “Alex Annie Alexis Ann” as a human member of a vampire family who used her as bait, there was no reason to think it would be more than a single guest spot. “When I did my very first episode as Alex, I didn’t have any expectations that there was going to be anything else,” says Ramdeen. “Never in a million years would I imagine that there was the possibility for an entire show around these characters....

Supernatural Season 5 Episode 9 Review

So, what do you do when you’re nearly halfway through a season and your apocalyptic storyline needs padding out? Well, you could always add an interesting dimension to proceedings. Maybe attempt to delve deeper into the connection between a demon fighting blood junkie called Sam Winchester and Lucifer? Maybe you could even give the longstanding, committed fans of the show an extra something to sink their teeth into? No? Well, tell you what....

Supernatural Season 9 Episode 6 Review Heaven Can T Wait

9.6 Heaven Can’t Wait I have to say, I was never particularly fond of the idea of Castiel becoming human to begin with; my opinion has always been that in a show called Supernatural, there should be… well, supernatural creatures. It seems I’m outnumbered, however, and I’m left with evaluating a storyline I’d much rather had never happened. Nevertheless, as far as a human Castiel-centric episode goes, this was a drastic improvement over the last one....

Support The Girls What Is The Value Of Good Intentions

Bujalski has been referred to by some as “the godfather of mumblecore,” a subgenre referring to the naturalistic style of dialogue in his films, but it’s a title he hasn’t always embraced. “[Mumblecore] was a tag that got applied more than a decade ago now to some kind of low budget, chatty, character-focused movies,” he says. “At the time it felt like you pour your heart and soul into something and then people want to reduce it to a funny word, but in retrospect it’s something that I feel more warmth about to the extent that there was a creative and supportive and productive community, so I’m plenty happy to be associated with that....

Teen Wolf Weaponized Review

This week was a return to form for the Teen Wolf. The plot-driven intensity of the episode worked hand-in-hand with the emotional developments of the characters to create a tight, sexy, death-riddled little hour. Does that make me sound weird? It does, but whatever; I’m owning it. This week the gang continues to just barely avoid being offed by The Benefactor’s minions. A substitute biology teacher — never seen before and never to be seen again — infects everyone who shows up to take their PSATS with an advanced form of canine distemper....

Teen Wolf Season 3 Episode 21 Review The Fox And The Wolf

3.21 The Fox And The Wolf The show opens in 1943, with soldiers dumping bodies into a pit. However from the pit rises the illustrious nogitsune, and he’s not too happy about being dumped and left for dead. He kills one of the soldiers, using the man’s own gun against him after absorbing a couple of bullets, and then he has a riddle for the other soldier: what’s got a neck, but no head?...
