Like a 4th century BC version of the A-Team, Hercules and his mercenaries work as soldiers of fortune, and having made short of a group of snaggle-toothed pirates, go off to work for Lord Cotys (John Hurt) of Thrace, whose land is being terrorised by an evil warlord called Rhesus (Tobias Santelmann) and his army of centaurs....

4.1 The Darkest Hour Part One Finally giving Katie McGrath something to do other than look pretty and smirk evilly, Morgana has left a trail of destruction in Camelot, headed over to the Isle of the Blessed, sacrificed her sister to bolster her power, and is making plans to wreak further revenge on the people she had once called friends. By spilling the blood of Morgause, she breaks the seal between the world of the living and the dead, bringing us face-to-face with the Callieach (Gemma Jones), guardian of the Other World and unleashing a new evil upon the world of Camelot....
As if it wasn’t hilarious enough to be watching Nathan getting caught up in a completely ridiculous, extended and very unsexy sex scene with his crush whom he met while helping out at the OAP centre tea dance, we discover, during said sex, that gorgeous young Ruth is, in fact, 82-year-old Ruth, who had been charged with the ability to de-age herself. This ballsy, unabashed plot twist helped in extending the core idea of the storm causing sudden superpowers in people outside our immediate protagonists....
We’re nearly there – the final hour of Misfits is only one week away and, judging by how darn entertaining the past seven weeks have been (and the lengthy promo we were given at the end of this episode), I’m looking forward to it immensely. This penultimate episode was weird in the way it seemed so determined to stay standalone and non-epic, but then that’s the show we know and love – if there’s going to be anything traditionally cinematic or finale-esque, my guess is they’ll save it until the very end....
2.6 Master/Slave That opening sequence… Between Elliot’s beatdown and Dominique’s shootout in Beijing last week, the story I was looking forward to closure on more was definitely the shootout. It was so surprising and violent, whereas Elliot’s beating was certainly violent but not unexpected. Still, I could never have expected that the resolution of the attack on Elliot would involve 80’s USA Network graphics, grainy non-HD picture and a full-blown laughtrack....
I admit Will Ferrell is a sort of a Marmite-like actor, either you like him or truly despise every curly hair on his oversize noggin. Personally, no matter how many lame comedies he has made recently or anything he could be roped into doing if the cash is right in the future he is, and always will be, Ron Burgundy. However, for this festive treat from Iron Man director Jon Favreau, the idea of chunky American blokes in such garish attire seems very fitting as, combining a sense of slap-sick humour, happy feel good moments, James Caan and a whole pile of sugar, syrup and dollops of Christmas cheer, Elf could have been very easily a movie that would not only rot your teeth but also your brain....
In this case, and it you haven’t figured it out from the title, it’s a study of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in his senior year of high school, and it’s a very different movie than some might be expecting, since it’s more teen angst drama than horror or thriller. At first, My Friend Dahmer feels like a cross between Napoleon Dynamite and the work of Daniel Clowes, who is presumably an influence on Derf’s own comics work....
“We’ve not forgotten the Devil’s Whore” said villainous Judge Jeffreys in a much-needed exposition scene in the New Worlds opener. With any luck, neither will have the viewers because tonight’s hour cut little slack for anyone dozing at the back. Fanshawe now has a new face (Nurse Jackie’s Eve Best plays the older version of Angela Riseborough’s character), a new husband (a Papist. Doomed), and her baby daughter, Beth, is fully grown (and played by Skins and The White Queen’s Freya Mavor)....
