1.26 The Neutral Zone Picard’s first order is for the Enterprise to journey into the Neutral Zone! If you’re confused, think of the Neutral Zone as a sort of space version of the Iron Curtain. And if you don’t remember communism, the Iron Curtain was kind of like the M25, only for the USSR and Europe instead of London and the rest of the UK). Anyway, someone has been destroying outposts around the Neutral Zone, and they think it’s probably the Romulans....
The episode starts with Cyrus blackmailing Olivia to figure out why the Elliots, the poster couple for Fitz’s new gun control campaign, didn’t show up for two flights to DC to be guests of honor at the State of the Union. Lisa Elliot was shot while saving children during a school shooting and was made to be a hero in the news, even publicizing her wedding to a war hero....
Scandal Season 6 Episode 12 It has been a terrifying season with the addition of several new characters that prove to be even more heartless and reckless than Rowan Pope. Peus and his sidekick got to meet our leading lady, Olivia Pope this week, but perhaps didn’t expect her gusto and tactical skills. We may have seen the first “taken aback” look we will ever see from Peus, but there’s no doubt he is a person who doesn’t stop until he gets what he wants....
Sense8 Season 2 Review Returning for Sense8 season 2 on May 5 might be disorienting, coming nearly two years after season 1 was released on Netflix, if it weren’t for the Christmas special, an early airing of the first two hours that became available on December 23, 2016. However, because that double episode had trouble finding an anchor, being separated from the rest of the season by over four months itself, there might be some trepidation returning to the show after so long....
“Don’t be boring” Holmes tells a witness in A Scandal in Belgravia, the first episode of Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss’ second three-part BBC series. That seems to have been the mantra adopted by Sherlock’s creators in this massively-anticipated follow-up to series one, because boring it is not. A Scandal in Belgravia is what happens when an already great show gets a well-deserved confidence boost. Working on series one, Moffat and Gattiss must have had the inkling that they had something special on their hands, but no idea how warmly Sherlock would be welcomed by the viewing public, or how eagerly awaited a follow-up would be....
6.13 A Mother’s Work The major theme of the season has been about Jax’s ability to accept personal responsibility for his actions and this is precisely what he finally acknowledges in this inner monologue. Moreover, the fact that he is fully aware he has turned into the man that he hated, Clay, and that ever since Opie died he has lost his moral centre, tells us that Jax is very much aware of the destructive path he has been on....
South Park has always been adept at combining fringe plotlines with the absurd to create some truly silly episodes. This is one of those episodes, and while certainly not the best mash-up of these sort of sensibilities, it’s still a lot of fun. The boys are off in the mindset that conquering in Magic: the Gathering is pretty much the manliest thing you can do, which isn’t given much context other than the fact that these are young boys....
Wow. Now, I have enjoyed Spooks for many years, and have said on numerous occasions that Harry Pearce is one of the all-time great spies on television. But now? Forget your Bauers and other gung-ho Americans that fill the screens with quips and one-liners, Sir Harry is up there with George Smiley as far as I’m concerned. Throughout the season, we’ve seen a shadowy cabal of agents plotting to derail talks between Russia and the UK, and finally, it seems that all the plots, plans and potential traps were set up by Harry’s former friend Jim Coaver, an intelligence head at the CIA....
This review contains spoilers. After four interminable weeks of watching Douglas Archer do little more than set his jaw against the wretched state of things, the finale failed to significantly raise SS-GB’s game. It was by far the most gripping episode of the lot, but still felt as inessential and unsatisfying as everything it preceded. There was no victory for Archer, no resolution at seeing the Nazis booted off England’s fair shores, and certainly no honey for tea....
Stan Against Evil Season 2 Episode 4 “Well, this girls’ night was a bust…” “Girls’ Night” pretty cleanly splits its cast in half while a warlock with an obsession with games of chance wreaks havoc over everyone. The concept of some luck-centric supernatural entity is actually a pretty good idea, unfortunately the episode doubles down on it in a way that just dilutes the topic. Evie and Denise claim Stan’s house for the sacred tradition of girls’ night, which displaces Stan and has him set up shop in a bar for most of this entry....

Supergirl Season 2, Episode 14 “Homecoming” had all of the makings of an incredibly powerful episode, but the emotion of the hour was somewhat undercut by one major plot hiccup: the idea that our team of well-trained DEO agents would let Jeremiah Danvers waltz back into life at the DEO without so much as a debrief. Even if you didn’t believe that Jeremiah had allied with Cadmus, would you really let a man who has been held prisoner for the last decade and a half back into work without months of mandated therapy?...
Polley’s second directorial feature introduces us to Margot (a fantastical, versatile turn from Michelle Williams), a would-be novelist living out the early years of a happy marriage with her cookery book-writing husband Lou (Seth Rogen) in a bohemian Toronto suburb. Whether you feel Margot and Daniel are love’s lost dream or cruel, weak egotists is – somewhat thrillingly – left up to you by Polley, who provides scope for both interpretations, initially at least....
2.9 Party Guessed You see, it’s Lydia’s birthday, and since it’s spring break as well, she’s planning a big blow-out party. Unfortunately, she’s kind of become the town weirdo since she got attacked by Peter Hale. Hence, the party is a bust aside from Stiles, Allison, and Scott showing up. Thankfully, Stiles has some new friends – the cross-dressers from their brief adventure in the town gay bar – and Scott has the lacrosse team, so before long Lydia’s birthday is hopping and everyone’s there....

The 100 Season 4 Episode 2 The 100 Season 4 continues to serve up reminders of season one, from that electric blue butterfly to the realization that the Ark will only save 100 of them. We also started to learn a few more details about the facts on the ground while Bellamy faced down an OG The 100 moral quandary, Raven pressed Clarke to tell the truth, and Octavia added “political assassin” to her resume....
As such, for The Amazing Spider-Man, its focus is down to one villain. There are no moments of utter madness. The running time is still long, but the film zaps along as fast as it can so you don’t notice. It’s a straight three act story, constructed properly, that’s coherent from start to finish. It starts quite promisingly. It’s clear in quick time that Andrew Garfield is a great choice for the role....
The French King Pope Alexander VI is still spending time with his mistress (utilising her leg in one scene as an example of power in Italy) while dealing with the daily running of the Vatican. But in order to secure political (as well as financial) support, he agrees to a marriage between his youngest son, Joffre, and the illegitimate daughter of the king of Naples. When it’s revealed that the King’s daughter is quite a stunner, Juan selflessly volunteers to travel to Naples to secure the betrothal and, um, sample the goods....
