What we will say is this: genuinely giving nothing away, The Curse Of The Black Spot, aside from a few threads, is more of a standalone episode that we suspect many would have wanted. Ourselves included. Put that aside, though, and the ingredients are here for a solid Doctor Who yarn. The episode opens in the middle of the sea, as a group of sailors find themselves stranded, where they’ve been stuck for the best part of eight days....
Other possible distractions were kept at arm’s length. The hilarious way that Torchwood was kept out of it (they’re quite stupid and on holiday) was a relief after the self-important music almost heralded the coming of the loved-up Welsh idiots. Martha’s stupid family was also a minor side show (I’m changing me earlier opinion of them to ‘they’re all stupid and deserve to die’). It’s also quite incredible how the T Davies keeps finding these motifs to subtly thread through entire series of Who and not have anyone notice....
10.9 Empress Of Mars “Is this Neil Armstrong?” Now that’s how to end a Doctor Who episode. If Alpha Centauri is entirely new to you, then go and discover The Curse Of Peladon and The Monster Of Peladon for the first time, and have a really good time as you do so. It was the highlight for me of a slightly bumpy episode, albeit one that was an upgrade on last week’s The Lie Of The Land....
1.2 A Whiff of Sulfur None of this is to say that I’ve either decided that Dracula is hopeless nor that I am hoping for its cancellation. Quite the opposite. I’m here for the duration either way, so what I really want is for the series to improve. If I’m going to spend every Friday night for a while with this series, I want it to be entertaining, or at least interesting....
Dragon Ball Super Episode 17 And so marks the official introduction of Pan in the Dragon Ball Super universe. Let the endless debates over whether a female is capable of turning Super Saiyan begin! One of the fun aspects of Dragon Ball Super’s decision to be set after the defeat of Majin Buu but before the conclusion of Dragon Ball Z is that it allows for some fun gaps in the timeline to be filled in....
Dragon Ball Super Episode 24 After the necessary prologue of the previous episode, this entry hits the ground running with Goku and Frieza immediately about to engage in battle. Everyone was able to get their introductions out of their system and tell enough people “Oh my God, you haven’t changed a bit,” so that this episode can focus purely on Goku and Frieza trying to beat each other into pulp. The episode also decides to cut the tension of its high-pressure battle by once again turning to Jaco for comedic relief....
Dynasty Episode 3 How did Dynasty manage to make an 80s-themed episode boring? Unfortunately the fashion was similarly hit and miss. Poor Cristal’s makeup aged her (and not in a sophisticated way) and her dress was trying too hard to be modern and cool to have any fun ’80s elements. Luckily Anders saved the (fashion) day with his white suit, which is not a look most old, white men can pull off unironically....
3.3 Prey When Ingrid Hjort (Eleanor Williams) goes missing after an evening out, the police can find no trace of the Danish au pair. Her employer, widowed scientist Dr Hector Lorenz (Milo Twomey) claims to know nothing about her disappearance, while her fellow students at the night school she attended are similarly clueless. Thursday’s convinced that the presumed murder is linked to the vicious attack in 1963 that left another young woman in a coma, but in the absence of Ingrid’s body, nothing can be proved....
In a lengthy interview with Details magazine, LaBeouf said he’d engaged in a tussle with Hardy, and that his opponent “never did that roughhouse stuff with me again.” “I got knocked out by Shia LaBeouf, actually,” Hardy said. “In Wettest County, apparently.” At this point, that the atmosphere in the room seemed rather unusual, as though no one involved quite knew whether Hardy was being serious or not. His use of the word ‘apparently’ would also suggest that he was winding us up....
2.5 Molon Labe. In what is the least obvious twist in television history, about 12 minutes after the pair of razorbacks – Karen and Ben – escape from the 2nd Mass, they run across a patrol of skitters, a mech, and an overlord (we’ll call him Fishhead, because that’s the nickname the Mass has stuck them with). Completely unsurprising, right? Wrong. Karen goes off on a rant and hands Ben over to the curious overlord, who wants the information he has about the rebellion....
3.10 Brazil Falling Skies apparently saved up a big portion of its special effects budget for the final episode, which features multiple Beamer ships, a mega-mech, an Espheni transport ship, the long-awaited unveiling of the Volm super weapon, multiple members of the Volm race, and the Volm transport ship that has been one of humanity’s last, best hopes for winning the war against the alien invaders with a minimum amount of messy bloodshed....
3.9 Aporia Emmit was a smart kid. He admits as much in his heartbreaking confession, at which he intends not only to escape the greasy clutches of VM Varga (even if this means prison) but also to atone for a lifetime of sin against his brother. ‘I’d been killing him for thirty years,’ he says, weakly, ‘this was just when he fell’. Like a Minnesotan Prometheus, his original sin was cleverness; preying on his tubby younger brother’s anxieties to convince him to take the Corvette in place of the far more valuable (and business-igniting) stamp collection....
Fear The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 2 We’re only two episodes into its fourth season and Fear the Walking Dead already finds itself in a precarious position with its viewership. On the one hand, if you’re a faithful viewer who’s been with the show from day one, being reunited with the extended Clark family (who themselves have been reunited) is a cause for celebration. After all, it’s Madison, Alicia, Nick, Strand and Luciana who helped build Fear....
When a show ends before the creative team behind it is ready, then this can leave things in a highly unsatisfactory state, where plotlines aren’t neatly concluded. Logically, it may be that they only found out they’d failed to get more episodes after the finale was shot, in which case this TV show will end with a cliffhanger to nowhere. Whatever the truth, much of The Negotiation centres on Janis and her relationship with the other characters in her immediate vicinity....

I’ll step outside on the ledge and push my ass against the glass. You can act like you don’t even know babe. I’ll take a cup and then I’ll put it on my head, and then be freaky with a cup on my head....
1.9 6 A.M. I’ve commented previously about how New York plays a major part in Forever, like it’s an extra uncredited character. In 6 A.M. they take that analogy a little further, by using New York’s associations with Jazz as the connection, while trying to make some interesting parallels about being passionate about the music of your youth. A young man declares he’ll prove an injustice and ends up barbequed in his car for his troubles....
‘He had good reason for using overwhelming force’. You have to admire Hildur’s attempts to take control of the narrative as events twist themselves around her. Frank was naked in the shower when Dan assaulted him and gave him such a vicious beating that it’s probably possible to trace the Sheriff’s fingerprint’s in the poor guy’s bruises. Morton, as we now expect, isn’t buying it and immediately seizes control for himself....
Criminy, blimey, knickers and bollocks? Isn’t anyone thinking of the children anymore? These are just some of the foul words you’ll hear but, hold on. It’s just another time travel-based episode from Futurama! This first trip takes the Lobster Man back to meet Andy Warhol, whilst Fry takes it on himself to lick another president’s head (not drink the jar juice, I note) and finds himself in the prohibition era....
6.10 The Winds Of Winter Game Of Thrones opens up with a person putting on a crown, and ends with a person putting on a crown. Margaery, Tommen, the High Sparrow, Cersei… they’re all busy getting dressed. It’s trial day, and King Tommen has declared that trial by combat is no longer allowed, which means that Loras Tyrell is faced with a trial courtesy of seven septons, just like the old days....
