In an interview earlier this month, we talked to Gaiman about why Fuller and Green were the right people for the job. For Gaiman, Fuller was someone he could trust to bring American Gods to the screen. “It was Bryan who went and found Michael,” said Gaiman. The two had previously met and worked together on Heroes, and had been looking for something to collaborate together on ever since. Green has his own impressive resume, including the creation of NBC prestige drama Kings and, more recently, as co-writer on Logan....

So Jim and Michelle head back to Great Falls, Michigan, where Jim reunited with his old friends Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), and Oz (Chris Klein). The four make plans to hang out, but when their frenemy Stifler (Seann William Scott) crashes the party, things rapidly get out of hand. Massive amounts of alcohol are consumed, relationships are strained, and parties are thrown. Meanwhile, problems pop up and are solved in turn, when characters aren’t getting involved in misadventures....

1.2 Honor Thy Father This week sees Oliver enter his mission to clean up the city in a more organised way, attempting to hide his alter-ego from his friends and family while protecting Laurel from the corrupt businessman she’s helping to bring down. We see Oliver target the background baddies over general criminals on the street, going through his father’s list of society’s dregs as a guide. These are the people who might go unpunished if it weren’t for vigilantes like Green Arrow, and that gives the show a sense of purpose above the weekly vengeance saga it could have been....

2.11 Kin Meanwhile, Hercules, Pythagoras, Ariadne and Aeson, Jason’s father, are hunting for the lost – both geographically and emotionally – hero. Hercules realises that he’s abandoned his friend when he needed her most and vows to correct this. Thankfully, Pasiphae has the perfect thing planned to take her mind off events – a gladiatorial spectacle. It’s a lesson for Medea, as Pasiphae explains that the event will placate the people and remind them that those who disobey her will be punished – words that cut deep, given Medea’s recent actions....

Attack on Titan season 2 has officially ended. Fans were disappointed everywhere by season 2’s measly 12-episode order—less than half of season 1’s respectable count of 25. But despite the massive cut, season 2 delivered all the elements that made the Attack on Titan anime great. Ballmastrz Episode 3 Review Throughout all of the planning and revelations this week, Gaz drunkenly moans about how there are ultimately two types of athletes: snots and turds. Turds come and go, but snots—like Gaz herself—are the glue that hold everything together. It feels like this analogy can also be applied to Ballmastrz: 9009 as a whole. In this case, snots are the episodes of the series that beautifully marry together the show’s unique, eccentric animation with a challenging, surreal story, whereas the turds are the episodes that are only able to indulge one of these strengths and fall short and feel empty in the end....

2.5 The Escape Artist Given that the central thread of Bates Motel is the odd relationship between a boy and his mother, it’s hardly surprising that parent-child relationships form part of the wider thematic structure. Or should that be the absence of such relationships? The characters that we follow home (as opposed to the ones like, say, Remo who we only see ‘at work’) are, more often than not, bereft of at least one parent....

If Returns was a challenging film with its yuletide tone of psychological suffering, the next one was going to be bright, colorful and, most of all, parent-friendly. The franchise had lost its merchandise enthusiasm from the previous two entries, so the first priority for the studio was to make sure that director Tim Burton didn’t let the door hit him on the way out. With Burton gone, Michael Keaton followed shortly thereafter....

But multi-million pound spec-bat-ular Batman Live is rather controversially set on a regular, room temperature stage, for several reasons. Firstly, because …on Ice! shows are now the domain of reality show spin-offs, exclusively populated by people dangling on the precipice of the definition of celebrity. Second, because a skating Batmobile would exactly like an Olympic bobsled, and possibly less intimidating. Third, because the Penguin would have an unassailable advantage. And don’t get me started on Mr Freeze....

This review contains spoilers. So this is the last time I’ll say this, I promise. If you aren’t watching Being Human: The Reboot, I urge you to reconsider. Sure, we’re all pining for Mitchell and George but the sooner we all accept that they’ve moved on to pastures new, the better. The same could be said of Annie, whose devotion to her former housemates shone through in a wonderful exchange with Hal....

This review contains spoilers. Well, that wasn’t very good now, was it? It’s a truth every Being Human fan knows only too well: throughout each and every series to date, there have been at least one or two genuine clunkers to offset the largely outstanding stuff. It was with something of a heavy heart, then, when the credits rolled on A Spectre Calls, that I realised Whithouse and Co. had failed to buck the trend this time round....

5.1 The Trinity There’s a big shake-up in the Being Human cast this year, as we all know, and the biggest test for this fifth series premiere was always going to be proving that the current trio, Hal, Tom and Alex, could live up to the legacy left by Mitchell, George and Annie. We had a soft reboot last season, but some fans seemed far from won over, so we had to wait and see what Toby Whithouse and his writers would be able to do with an entirely new supernatural trinity living in Honolulu Heights....

2.3 Amarillo Yet something bothersome is starting to happen on the fringes of the show, something I can’t believe I’m even thinking, let alone writing down, an issue that is directly tied to the shadow cast by Breaking Bad. I’m starting to feel like Better Call Saul has a problem, and that problem is Mike. Don’t get me wrong; Jonathan Banks is still giving a world class performance as the character and getting to see him again on a regular basis is a treat....

In the new Marvel blockbuster, Wright plays Shuri, the high-spirited younger sister of newly minted Wakandan king T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman). In addition to being her nation’s crown princess, she is also its resident technological genius, working in her lab to create new advances for Wakanda and new gadgets for her brother and his security force, the Dora Milaje. To use a comparison that’s been aired a lot, she is the “Q” to T’Challa’s James Bond, but she also is helping to lead Wakanda even further into the future than most other countries on Earth....

5.6 Devil You Know Losing Sally Wheet was painful for Nucky, as his self-flagellating and nostalgic drinking mission attests, but for the viewer, losing Van Alden and Chalky, in the same episode no less, may well be the sharper experience. We’ve accompanied them since the very first season all the way to the near-end, through some very strange days indeed. The pair of them inhabited tragedy in their own way (though I suspect that George Raft’s comment about Shakespearean rise and fall is a lesson that should be reserved for another figure) and found death in a similar fashion....

After picking up napkins from a restaurant supply store, Bob decides to let Tina practice driving in the near-empty parking lot. She moans the entire time, heading toward the only parked car as Bob freaks out, trying to get her to turn in one direction or the other. She smashes into the lone car, giving it just a ding while wrecking the entire front end of Bob’s car. She insists on leaving a note....
