Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 13 It’s hard to overstate how happy I am with Legends of Tomorrow right now. The show just seems to continually wallow in not just the minutiae of DC continuity, but in general nerdery in a way that would be unseemly on a show that was less earnest about it. But everything about the way nerd culture is used is contextually loving – not appropriative, but lived and shared in a way that other stuff (coughcoughBigBangTheorycough) cannot pull off....
Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 7 I have a quandary. A conundrum. I’m in a fix, if you will. But at the same time…it wasn’t a particularly good episode of Legends of Tomorrow. Let me explain. The plot of the crossover finishes up very neatly. Following the end of last night’s Arrow, the gang decides they need a Dominator captive to figure out what the plan is. And at the same time the new President (oh hey nbd, the old President just got killed but it’s cool they’ve got it) wants a meeting with the team of heroes....
Lethal Weapon Season 2 Episode 7 Lethal Weapon is a show of many extremes and as a result of this it can sometimes be difficult to please its audience. It’s a series that constantly wants to push things over the edge when it comes to both comedy and drama and it usually has to find some middle ground as a result. The best episodes of Lethal Weapon are the ones that figure out how to balance the show’s duality and it’s typically done so well that it’s hard to even notice....
The ideas behind Leverage are simple but slickly presented in a charming and entertaining way. In terms of the style this has very much the feel of an American version of the BBC’s Hustle, although the premise is slightly different. If this sounds crass and possibly quite dumb it could so easily end up that, but somehow manages to elevate itself into something quite good. If Leverage has a secret weapon it’s the quality of the actors they’ve hired, fronted by the excellent Timothy Hutton as ex-insurance fraud investigator, Nate Ford....
There’s a special kind of feeling that only the most awesome moments of TV can give you. The feeling that can only happen when a really good story lets you know that shit just got real. I got it when Caleb poked out Xander’s eye. I got it when Sydney and Vaughn finally brought down SD-6. I got it when Galactica/Pegasus rescued the citizens of New Caprica. And I got it about six times during this episode of Lost....
