In the match, Paige took an awkward dropkick from Sasha Banks and reportedly suffered a stinger. However, WWE doctors informed her this past Monday at WWE’s Monday Night Raw television taping that she would not be medically cleared for an in-ring return. PWInsider compared the situation to that of Edge, who was also forced to retire as an active wrestler due to a neck injury. It remains to be seen how much time is left on her WWE contract. While it’s possible she tries to resume her career in the ring — her family owns a promotion in the U.K. — it would seem wise to be cautious with this type of injury. Edge was on record in interviews saying that doctors told him one wrong move could result in permanent paralysis. In any event, we wish Paige a speedy recovery.
